1993 LQ Employee's Association MOULETTER OF AGREEMENT
Negotiating teams representing the La Quinta Employee Association and the City of
La Quinta City Council have met and conferred and have reached a tentative
agreement regarding the following items:
• A shorts policy as outlined in Exhibit A will be instituted effective July
1, 1993. The City will not assume any additional fiscal responsibility
for the program.
• Representatives from Principal Mutual and/or broker will be requested
to provide a series of informational seminars regarding the proposed
90/80 PPO policy so that all employees and the City Council may have
their questions addressed regarding the new policy under
consideration. This will be done in a timely manner so that a final
decision by the City Council regarding health insurance may be made
by August 31, 1993.
• Regardless of the medical plan decided upon, the City will continue
payments on the health insurance plan on the same basis as the
previous fiscal year.
Subject to the results of the informational meeting for medical coverage and
subsequent decision, a formal M. O. U. will be drafted containing the above mentioned
items for presentation to the City Council.
