1989 LQ Employee's Association MOUMEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA QUINTA AND THE LA QUINTA CITY EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, on July 5, 1989, the City of La Quinta (herein referred to as CITY), by its City Council, adopted Resolution No. 89- recognizing the La Quinta City Employees' Association (herein referred to as ASSOCIATION), as the recognized employee organization representing all City employees except the City Manager, City Attorney, Administrative Services Director, Community Safety Director, Finance Director, Planning Director and Public Works Director and Department Secretary -Administration (job titles in effect on date of resolution); and WHEREAS, the City and Association have met and conferred in good faith pursuant to provisions of the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, on all matters relating to employment conditions and employer/employee relations, including wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Meet and Confer process, City and Association have reached the following agreement relative to any changes in wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment and have hereby entered into this Memorandum of Understanding. SECTION 1. MEET AND CONFER PROCESS This Memorandum of Understanding is made and executed pursuant to Government Code Section 3500, as amended, and hereby satisfies city's duty to meet and confer with the Association during the period of this Agreement. The term of this Agreement shall be for a period of one year, commencing July 1, 1989, and ending June 30, 1990. SECTION 2. SALARY ADJUSTMENT A salary increase of 5% is hereby approved as reflected on the attached schedule of salary ranges dated June 14, 1989. SECTION 4. SALARY SURVEY City agrees to conduct a salary survey for the following positions: 1. Development Services Aide 2. We the association have not been given ample time to review the proposed Memorandum of Understanding. Should the proposed Memorandum of Understanding remain on the Agenda for the June 20, 1989 meeting of the La Quinta City Council, we request this memorandum be included with the Memorandum of Understanding and Resolution. If it is not, we the association will distribute this memorandum to the City Council members and any interested parties.
