SUBJECT: TEMPORARY USE PERMIT 2016-0037
ANNUAL SUNLINE "FILL THE BUS" FOOD DRIVE
Dear Ms. Stevens:
The Design and Development Department has reviewed and approved your request to
hold a food donation drive in front of the Stater Brothers store in La Quinta, California
(78630 Highway 111). Approval for this event is granted per Section 9.100.130 of the
La Quinta Municipal Code under the following Findings and subject to the following
Conditions of Approval:
FINDINGS
1. The event will not be detrimental to the health, safety and general welfare of
the community in the area of the proposed event.
2. There is adequate area to conduct the event and to accommodate the
anticipated attendance.
3. Sufficient parking will be provided for the anticipated attendance.
4. Public roadways providing access to the event are capable of accommodating
the anticipated traffic volumes in a reasonable and safe manner with minimal
disruption to local traffic circulation.
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
1. The event shall be held on November 17, 2016 between the hours of 7:00 a.m.
and 7:00 p.m.
2. The event area shall be monitored and secured at all times.
3. The event shall be contained within the parking lot area within the immediate
vicinity of the Stater Brothers grocery store. The bus shall be parked entirely
within the area established for the event duration.
4. Roadways, parking areas, and pedestrian and vehicular traffic aisles to other
businesses and activities in the vicinity shall be maintained accessible at all
times. No fire lanes, or other permanent access or drive ways, may be blocked
at any time.
5. No permanent markings may be applied to City streets, sidewalks, or other
property, private or public. The bus may have one (1) 3' x 10' banner placed on
its exterior.
6. The site shall be left clean and in its original manner at the conclusion of the
event.
7. By holding this event, the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold
harmless the City of La Quinta in the event of any legal claim or litigation
arising out of the City's approval of this project. The City of La Quinta shall have
the right to select its defense counsel at its sole discretion.
Adherence to these conditions as outlined herein will ensure that adverse impacts to
surrounding properties and businesses will be minimized. The City may elect to add
conditions of approval to this application to mitigate any problems that arise not
previously addressed herein.
