49150 Anselmo (Avenida)
DPR 523L (09/2013)
Identifier: CRM TECH 1885-10 Date Constructed: 1961
UTM Zone: 11S, 564428 mE / 3727919 mN
Neighborhood: La Quinta Country Club
Tract: La Quinta Golf Estates No 1; Recorded July 31, 1959, MB 37/98
Owner and Address: Summerfield Family Trust, Thomas W. Summerfield; 1207 Seacrest Drive, Corona Del Mar CA 92925
Updated Description: The 59150 Avenida Anselmo property was constructed in 1961 in the gated La Quinta Golf Estates
neighborhood within the La Quinta Country Club. The one-story, single family residence was constructed in a Custom Ranch style.
The residence has an asymmetrical facade with a low-pitch front gable and flat roof. The roof has wide, boxed eaves and gable ends
shielded by metal panels. The exterior is clad in stucco. The front elevation features at least three windows, though likely more are
obscured by vegetation. The current survey showed that the three visible horizontal sliding windows had been replaced with large
fixed picture windows. The attached garage was constructed in 2000. There does not appear to have been any other alterations to
the residence since the previous survey.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The current survey found that the dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-
1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme.
The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with
significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible Criterion B/2/B, as it has
not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not
embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion
D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional,
state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it
was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this
dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.
