77370 Sinaloa (Calle)
DPR 523L (09/2013)
Identifier: CRM TECH 1885-153 Date Constructed: 1961
UTM Zone: 11S, 563622 mE; 3725874 mN
Neighborhood: The Cove
Tract: Santa Carmelita Unit No 2; Recorded February 28, 1934, MB 18/56
Owner and Address: Curt E Parkinson, Isabella Parkinson; 16619 Orchard Bend Road, Poway CA 92064
Updated Description: The 77370 Calle Sinaloa residence was constructed in 1961 in the La Quinta Cove neighborhood. CRM Tech
described the property as a Modern style single-family residence in 2006. It is a Tract Ranch style residential property with
Contemporary influences. The one story single family residence has a rectangular plan with a low-pitched flat roof with thick boxed
eaves. The exterior is clad in stucco. There is one large sliding window at the front window. A large pierced block wall with an "X"
pattern separates the rear of the property. The subject property does not appear to have had significant alterations since last
surveyed.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The current survey found that the dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-
1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. While the dwelling is located within the
proposed La Quinta Cove Historic District, it is a non-contributor due to its architectural style and date of construction.
The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with
significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible under Criterion B/2/B, as it
has not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does
not embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion
D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional,
state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it
was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this
dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.
