Updated Description: The Date Palm Grove property was planted in 1926 at the northwest corner of 52nd Avenue and Jefferson
Street as part of former ranch property. The property was initially recorded by Mellon and Associates in 1997 as a cultural landscape.
The date grove was removed by ca. 2009. It was platted as a new private residential subdivision by Watermark Villas who began
construction in 2009 but stalled until 2016, when Beazer Homes demolished the existing buildings after they bought the property
and re-named the development Floresta. Floresta homes began construction in 2019.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 5S1 - Individually listed or designated locally. The
dwelling on the property was initially recorded in 1997 by Mellon and Associates. It was fully demolished by ca. 2009 and
subsequently replaced in ca. in 2019. The historic resource is no longer extant. As such, the property is not eligible for inclusion in the
NRHP, CRHR, or Local Register.
