51886 Eisenhower Drive
DPR 523L (09/2013)
Identifier: CRM TECH 1885-165 Date Constructed: 1951
UTM Zone: 11S, 564256 mE / 3725810 mN
Neighborhood: The Cove
Tract: Santa Carmelita Unit No 12; Recorded March 31, 1935, MB 18/80
Owner and Address: Pamela Vee Crabtree; 51886 Eisenhower Drive, La Quinta CA 92253
Updated Description: The 51886 Eisenhower Drive residence was constructed in 1951 in the La Quinta Cove neighborhood. The
one story single family residence was constructed as a Spanish Styled Ranch home. The residence has an irregular plan with an
attached garage. The residence has a medium pitched side gable roof with intersecting low pitched hipped roofs above the front
masses. The roof is clad in red tile and the exterior is clad in stucco. Since the previous survey, the windows at the front elevation
have been replaced. The multi-pane fixed and casement windows seen in the previous survey have been replaced with fixed vinyl
windows.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The current survey found that the dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-
1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. While the dwelling is located within the
proposed La Quinta Cove Historic District, it is a non-contributor due to its architectural style and date of construction.
The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with
significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible Criterion B/2/B, as it has
not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not
embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion
D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional,
state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it
was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this
dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.
