Updated Description: The 52777 Eisenhower Drive residence was constructed in 1951 in the La Quinta Cove neighborhood. CRM
Tech described the property as a Ranch style single-family residence in 2006. Urbana staff conclude that residence more specifically
displays the characteristics of a Tract Ranch style residential property. The residence has a rectangular plan with a low pitch side
gable roof with a wide open eaves overhang. The exterior is clad in vertical boards. There is a covered attached carport at the center
of the residence, separating the two massing's of the building. There are three windows at the front elevation. Since the previous
survey, the windows appear to have been replaced with similar sliding windows, with narrower trim. The narrow square wood
support posts have been built up and made wider, clad in white stucco. The carport has been enclosed with a metal garage door.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The current survey found that the dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-
1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. While the dwelling is located within the
proposed La Quinta Cove Historic District, it is a non-contributor due to its architectural style and date of construction.
The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with
significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible Criterion B/2/B, as it has
not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not
embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion
D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional,
state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it
was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this
dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.

east from the west side of Eisenhower Drive. The wood-framed structure is
topped with a low-pitched side gable roof covered with asphalt and white
gravel, with wide eaves overhanging exterior walls clad in wide, flush,
vertical boards. The asymmetrical façade features two wood doors painted

*P3a. Description (continued): red, flanked by vinyl-framed sliding windows with white
trim. An open veranda across the façade is sheltered by an extension of the
main roof, supported by seven square wood posts. A recessed open carport is
set in the southern portion of the façade, forming essentially a breezeway
between the main residential unit on the northern end and a second, much
smaller unit on the southern.
