• The La Quinta Study Session Room is handicapped accessible. If special equipment is
needed for the hearing impaired, please call the Community Services office at 760-
777-7106, twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meeting and accommodations will
be made.
• If special electronic equipment is needed to make presentations to the Community
Services Commission, arrangements should be made in advance by contacting the
Community Services office at 760-777-7106. A one (1) week notice is required.
• If background material is to be presented to the Commissioners during a Commission
meeting, please be advised that eight (7) copies of all documents, exhibits, etc., must
be supplied to the Executive Assistant for distribution. It is requested that this take
place prior to the beginning of the meeting.
• Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Commissioners regarding any
item(s) on this agenda will be made available for public inspection at the Community

Oaths of Office were administered by City Clerk Maysels to Commission Members
Lambert and Quill.
INTERIM CHAIR
There was a consensus among the Commission Members to appoint Commissioner
Johnson as Interim Chair.

approve the June 13, 2016 Community Services Commission minutes as submitted.
Motion passed: ayes 3, noes 0, abstain 2 (Lambert and Quill).
2. ELECT A CHAIRPERSON
Motion - A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners Chiapperini/Lambert to
elect Commissioner Johnson as the Community Services Commission Chairperson.
Motion passed unanimously.
3. ELECT A VICE -CHAIRPERSON
Motion - A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners Johnson/Quill to elect
Commissioner Simonds as the Community Services Commission Vice -Chairperson.
Motion passed unanimously.

AGENDA TITLE- CITY FACILITIES TOUR
RECOMMENDATION
Select a date for a City Facilities Tour.
XECUTIVE SUMMARY
• Facilities Director and Parks Superintendent will host a City Facilities Tour for all
Community Services Commissioners. The tour will provide information regarding
locations and amenities of each facility.
BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS
At the August 15, 2016 Community Services Commission meeting, there was a consensus
among Commissioners requesting a tour of all City facilities for all current Community
Services Commissioners. This tour allows staff to show Commissioners the locations and
amenities of all City facilities and provide insight on current facilities projects. Below for
your consideration are the Facilities Tour dates provided by staff:
• Saturday, October 22, 2016
• Saturday, October 29, 2016
• Saturday, November 5, 2016

Choose an alternative date not listed by staff or decline participation in Facilities Tour.
