BACKGROUND:
At the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency meeting of November 1989,
the Agency adopted a resolution approving a procedure to implement
owner participation rules for the village Center Area and directed
the Executive Director to elicit proposals.

1. Consider the proposals submitted as recommended by the
Agency Staff.
2. Consider whether development of the Subject Area should

MEMBERS OF THE LA QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
FROM: THOMAS P. GENOVESE, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER
DATE: NOVEMBER 29, 1989
SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSALS FROM REDEVELOPMENT OF
SPECIFIED SUBJECT AREA AND CONSIDERATION THAT
REDEVELOPMENT OF SUBJECT AREA BE ACCOMPLISHED AS AN
INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT.
As you will recall, at the November 7, 1989 meeting of the
Redevelopment Agency, the Agency formally adopted the procedures
to implement owner participation rules for a designated area and
directed the Executive Director to elicit proposals and implement
the procedures in respect to the subject area. That area was
defined as the area generally bounded by Calle Tampico on North,
Avenida Bermudas on West Avenida La Fonda on South, Desert Club on
East as depicted on the attached map.
As indicated in the previous staff report the proposals are to be
submitted on or before December 1. Upon the receipt of the
proposals in accordance with the final submittal date, the city
staff will review and if completed, will discuss the proposals and
the possible development of the Subject Area as an integrated
development at the December 5, 1989 meeting.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Consider the proposals submitted as recommended by the
Agency Staff.
2. Consider whether development of the Subject Area should
be accomplished as an integrated development.
