I do not believe there is any prohibition in the Disposition and Development Agreement DDA") between the City of La Quinta Redevelopment Agency RDA") and STOCKMAN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY against the use of said model homes" in manner said models were used this weekend, i.e., the marketing of the units to income qualified persons pursuant to our arrangement with the RDA and the marketing of similar homes to those persons whose incomes prohibit them qualifying for the City program". Clearly it is in the best interest of the City and the RDA that those persons who are not qualified for the City program, yet want to live in La Quinta have the widest choice of housing. Further, if STOCKMAN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY proceeds with the construction of market rate housing, another goal of the City and the RDA would be realized, i.e. local sub-contractors and suppliers would find meaningful employment. Furthermore, it should be pointed out that STOCI?AN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY is totally financially responsible for the costs of the models in question and, in fact owns said inodels unl??s and intil aid models are put in use dS 1afforddble housing", pursuant to the terms of the DDA. CONSENT CALENDAR; STUDY SESSION: BACKGROUND: The City of La Quinta and the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency relies on revenue generation work that is done by the County of Riverside pertaining to parcel tax rate area identification. Inaccurate parcel coding has the potential of being extremely costly to the City and the RDA. Muni Financial Services M.F.S.) provides a somewhat unique service of verifying what the County should have as correct parcel information. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The possible current and future year savings that result from the audits correction of parcel information would offset the cost of the audit. The $22,000 cost would initially be split between the two RDA Project Areas Account numbers 060-5200-111-020 and 067-5400-111-020 Consultant Services Project Area 1 & 2) should each have $11,000 appropriated APPROVED BY: RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of staff that the City Council of the City of La Quinta approve the agreement with M.F.
