PUBLIC HEARING:
ITEM TITLE: Consideration of Modification
Financial Assistance for the Coachella Valley BUSINESS SESSION:
Housing Coalition Housing Project Construction
CONSENT CALENDAR:
STUDY SESSION:
SUMMARY: On March 25, 1992, the Agency entered into a First Amendment to the
Affordable Housing Agreement with the Coachella Valley Housing coalition
CVHC) that provided a total of $44,000 to facilitate the development of ten
single-family homes in the Cove. The homes were to house two very low income
and eight low income households. On April 29, 1993, Agency staff received
correspondence from CVHC that requested an additional $7,959 in Agency
housing funds to facilitate the substitution of three very low income
households for three low income households.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: If the Agency granted this request., an additiona?
$7,959 would be allocated to this project. These funds would be charged
against the unexpected funds in the Agency's low and moderate income housing
account.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Agency grant CVHC's request and provide an
additional $7,959 to facilitate the substitution of three very low income
households for three low income households, and direct staff to amend the
Agreement to provide for this additional funding allocation.
