A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA
QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CLASSIFICATION PLAN
WORKING TITLE PRINCIPAL PLANNER TO SENIOR
PLANNER
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved and adopted the 2016/17
Classification Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City's Personnel Policy Section 2.05, Preparation and
Amendment of Classification Plan, requires amendments to the Classification Plan be
adopted by a Resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, amendment of the current working title of Principal Planner to
Senior Planner will allow the City to offer a competitive salary, improve the ability to
recruit a talented pool of applicants, and accomplish the same functions associated
with a Principal Planner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City does hereby approve and adopt the revisions to the Classification
Plan for Fiscal Year 2016/17, attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and incorporated herein
by reference.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta City
Council held on this 7th day of February, 2017, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Fitzpatrick, Pena, Radi, Sanchez, Mayor Evans
NOES: None
