Cashes 301-389 and the Frank Capra Room wcre-const Iructed circa• 198 1. 5.. Casitas 226-237, 239:276,:401455, Uno Dos Tres Building, and ibe'Bell Cottage were completed in .1983. 6. The Santa Rosa Building and Casitas 501-536 were constructed between 1984 and,1985. 7. The last .phase of construction was, completed in 1989- and included 'the 600-, 700-, 800 -,'and 900 -series "Casitas; the Salon Dr Fiesta, -and alrthrishops in the Plaza area. According to.,Chief Engineer Mills, 'many of the •.structures on the Site have undergone renovation over theapproximatel'y 60 years` of,occupauon. Originally adobe, brig inalbuilding exteriors'consisted of stud and plaster afar renovation. The new buildings were also stud'and plaster,wiittsome troweled on stucco exteriors. Ceilings in the Casitas consisted of plaster or troweled -on material. .Ceilings in the other buildings consisted -of 2' x 4' and 2,' x V1lay tri ceiling tile,'plaster,:drywall'material, sprayed -on acoustic material, or`wood. Interior walls consisted of•drywall maierial or plaster. Vinyl floor tile, ceramic tile, linoleum, or carpet covered clic concrete floors. Roofs for the Casitas, and. the other.buildings"consisted of ceramic mission tiles. The EI Mural building contained a flat.ta-i_,and gravel, roof.' u_ The EI Mural Building' contained the physical plant for part of -the La Quinta Hotel. Pipes in the physical plant consisted of metal pipes,or'fiberglass ihsulation.witli plastic elbows. Each individual guestroom,tn'the' Casia's contained apane ,access hatch pro'iding a view of the pipes under the buildings.` A Mechanical Closet outside. each 'Casita Building:.contained a heating,'ventilating,: and air conditioning system with'a duct system providing .hear'and cooling' to -each,of the individual guestrooms. Some o, the guestrooms:contained°fireplaces: Individual HVAC units along the exterior walls of some: of the Buildings. provided cooling. At the time of the survey; the La Quinta "Hotel,was,operating at 100% occupancy.' GL's inspector could only gain access to the tndi3idual.' guestrooms� during 'morning check-out. Therefore, GL could only inspect'a limited number'of. Casitas during=the on-site investigation.
