Areas must be measured and verified by HERS rater. Improved Duct Location: Supply duct located in other than attic, as verified by location of registers (does not require HERS rater verification). Catastrophic Leakage: Pressure pan test reading must be less than 1.5 Pascal as a house pressure of 25 Pascal. TXV: Access cover required to facilitate verification. Infiltration Reduction: Infiltration is measured without mechanical ventilation operating. Mechanical ventilation is required for very tight house construction when credits for infiltration reduction using diagnostic testing are beng used for achieving compliance. These very tight houses are defined as those with SLA of less than 1.5. The compliance documentation (CF -1 R) will contain the measured CFM target value from a blower door test at 50 Pascal pressure difference that represents this SLA of 1.5. Mechanical ventilation is also required if the builder chooses to design the building to use mechanical ventilation and claims a credit for infiltration below an SLA of 3.0. The compliance documentation (CF -1 R) will contain -the measured CFM target value that represents this 3.0 SLA. If the builder claims credit 1 in a design for infiltration reduciton that is at an SLA of 3.0 or higher, and the actual measured SLA is 1.5 or greater, then mechanical ventilation is not required. If the SLA in this case were below 1.5, ther mitigation (such as mechanical ventilation) would_be required. Areas must be measured and Area: verified by HERS rater. Improved Duct Location: Supply duct located in other than attic, as verified by location of registers (does not require HERS rater verification). Catastrophic Leakage: Pressure pan test reading must be less than 1.5 Pascal a-: a house pressure of 25 Pascal. TXV: Access cover required to facilitate verification. Infiltration Reduction: Infiltration is measured without mechanical ventilation operating. Mechanical ventilation'is required for very tight house construction when credits for infiltration reduction using diagnostic testing are beng used for achieving compliance. These very tight houses are defined as those with s -SLA of less than 1.5. The compliance documentation (CF -1 R) will contain the measured CFM target value from a blower door test at 50 Pascal pressure difference that represents. this SLA of 1.5. Mechanical ventilation is also required if the builder chooses to design the building to use mechanical ventilation and claims a credit for infiltration below an SLA of 3.0. The compliance documentation (CF -1 R) will contain the measured CFM target value that represents this 3.0 SLA. If the builitier claims credit in a design for infiltration reduciton that is at an SLA of 3A or higher, and the actual measured SLA is 1.5 or greater, then mechani•.al ventilation is not required. If the SLA in this case were below 1.5, they. mitigation (such as mechanical ventilation) would be required. Units are applicable to expansion valve systems only. Units may be installed at ground level or on a roof. Units are adaptable to several blower powered and add-on evaporators providing a wide range of cooling capacities for selective sizing and application versatility. For evaporator unit data see tab Coils — Blower Coil Units in this section. Units are shipped completely factory assembled, piped and wired. In addition, each unit is test operated at the factory insuring proper operation. Installer has only to place condensing unit in desired location, connect refrig- erant lines and make electrical connections to complete the job. Approvals—Condensing units have been tested in the Lennox Research Laboratory environmental test room and rated in accordance with ARI Standard 210/240-94. In addition, units have been sound rated in the Lennox reverberant sound test room in accordance with test conditions included in ARI Standard'270-95. Condensing units and components within are bonded for grounding to meet safety stan- dards for servicing required by U.L. and C.E.C. Units are also U.L. listed and C.S.A. certified'. Equipment Warranty—The compressor has a limited warranty for ten years in residential installations and 5 years in non-residential installations. All other covered components have a limited warranty for five years in residential installations and one year in non-residential installations. Refer to Lennox Equipment Limited Warranty included with the unit for details. Copeland© Compliant Scroll"' Compressor—High efficiency compres- sor features durability, steady uniform suction flow, constant discharge flow, high volumetric efficiency, quiet operation and the ability to start under any system load. Use of the scroll compressor eliminates the need for crankcase heater, start capacitor and start relay. The compliant scroll type compressor is a simple compression concept design consisting of two involute spiral scrolls matched together to generate a series of crescent-shaped gas pockets between them. During compression, one scroll is stationary while the other is allowed to orbit, not rotate, around the fixed one. As this motion occurs, gas is drawn into the outer pocket sealing off the open passage. As the spiral movement continues, the pockets between the scrolls are slowly pushed to the center of the scrolls while simultaneously being reduced in volume. When the pocket reaches the center, the gas is now at high pressure and is forced out of a port located in the center of the fixed scroll. During compression, several pockets are being compressed simul- taneously resulting in a smooth, nearly continuous compression cycle. Continuous flank contact, maintained by centrifugal force, mini- mizes gas leakage and maximizes efficiency. The scroll compressor is tolerant to the effects of liquid slug- ging and contaminants. Should this occur, the scrolls separate and allow the liquid or contaminants to be worked to the center and discharged. Low gas pulses during com- pression minimize operational sound level. Motor is internally pro- tected from excessive current and temperature. Compressor is installed in the unit on resilient rubber mounts, assuring vibration free operation. Two stage cooling model features low or high speed cooling operation indicators. Check filter indicator flashes at preset interval. Thermostat features system selector switch (Off -Heat -Cool -Auto) and fan switch (On -Auto) for continuous or intermittent blower operation. Indicator lights ("Amber" light in- dicates system operating. "Green" light indicates night period energy savings). Solid-state electronic technology eliminates bat- tery back-up and maintains thermostat settings during powerfail- ure for up to 24 hours. Thermostat has two separate (Day & Night) time and temperature settings per day. Individual slide switches are used to set day and night heat and cool temperatures and nighttime beginning and ending time periods. "Cancel Night" button overrides night temperature settings. "+" and "—" buttons set time of day. Pressing front cover reviews thermostat settings. Optional Outdoor Temperature Sensor is also available and must be ordered extra.
