Updated Description: The 78181 Avenida La Fonda dwelling was constructed in 1948 in the Village neighborhood. The multi-
family residence was built as a Contemporary style apartment building with Spanish Revival influences. The property was initially
recorded by CRM Tech in 2006. It was demolished in ca. 2012 and the lot is currently vacant.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The dwelling on the property was initially recorded in 2006 by CRM Tech. It was fully demolished in ca. 2012
and was not replaced at the time of the current survey. The historic resource is no longer extant. As such, the property is not eligible
for inclusion in the NRHP, CRHR, or Local Register.

setting, and boundaries) This one-story, Modern-style multi-family property faces
north from the south side of Avenida La Fonda and is partially obscured by a
concrete block wall and vegetation. The rectangular, likely wood-framed
building is topped with a low-pitched, flat roof covered with red clay tiles,
and wide, open eaves with exposed rafters and fascia boards shelter walls
sheathed in stucco. Fenestration consists of steel-framed, fixed and casement
windows, and an open veranda supported by thin, square wood posts lines the
asymmetrical façade.

indicate this modest apartment building was constructed around 1948. A permit
for an addition was issued in 1972, and another for a new roof was issued in
1989. Block walls and fences were added in 1989 and 1991. Additionally, a
large increase in improvement assessment, from $2,380 in 1957 to $4,430 in
1958, indicate change to the structure likely occurred during that time.
Owners within the historic period include Moe and Lily Benjamin from at least
1948 through 1954; Mark A. and Helen M. Richard (1955-1958); Beatrice
Partridge (1958-1960); Harry and Carolyn Bigelow (1961-1963); and Edward R.
Blades, beginning around 1964.
