Updated Description: The 58500 Madison Street residence was constructed between 1953 and 1954 in a Ranch style. The
dwelling on the property was initially recorded by CRM Tech in 2002. It was demolished in ca. 2004 and has not been replaced. The
lot is now undeveloped on the southeast corner of Madison Street and Avenue 58. The property is now located adjacent to the
northwest corner of the private Andalusia Country Club, which began construction in 2005.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The dwelling on the property that was initially recorded in 2002 by CRM TECH was demolished in ca. 2004. The
property has not been replaced and the lot remains vacant. The historic resource is no longer extant. As such, the property is not
eligible for inclusion in the NRHP, CRHR, or Local Register.

located on the eastern side of Madison Street, approximately 1/4 mile south
of Avenue 58.
*P3a. Description: (Describe resource and its major elements. Include design, materials, condition, alterations, size,
setting, and boundaries) The building at 58500 Madison Street, an abandoned
residence, is a one-story concrete block structure constructed on a front-
facing L-shape ground plan. Its low-pitched cross-gable roof is covered with
gray composition sheets, and the exterior walls are painted white, in contrast
to the crimson trim. The asymmetrical façade, facing the south, features an
open veranda that extends almost the entire length of the building, supported
by a series of square wooden posts, and a massive concrete block chimney
dominates the front-facing gable end. Steel-framed casement windows
constitute the majority of the fenestration.

house dates to around 1953-1954. It was probably built by Rose Hirose, a
long-time property owner, who subsequently deeded the parcel to Homer Fetty, a
local farmer who owned other properties to the south, around 1957. Due to the
lack of available archival data, later alterations to the residence could not
be documented.
