54925 Ramirez (Avenida)
DPR 523L (09/2013)
Identifier: CRM TECH 1885-96 Date Constructed: 1957
UTM Zone: 11S, 563907 mE; 3723315 mN
Neighborhood: The Cove
Tract: Santa Carmelita Unit No 28; Recorded May 31, 1939, MB 19/60
Owner and Address: Peter Compton, Sheila Compton; 16461 Quantico Road, Apple Valley CA 92307
Updated Description: The subject property was constructed in 1957. CRM Tech described the property as a Ranch style single-
family residence in 2006. It is a Contemporary style residential property. The residence has a flat roof with open eaves. Exterior walls
are clad in stucco with a decorative inlaid brick panel. The front elevation has a large open breezeway at the center of the residence,
leading to the rear. The front elevation features approximately 9 large fixed windows. There appears to be three doors at the front
elevation. There is a large square chimney clad in decorative brick. There does not appear to have been any significant alterations to
the residence since the previous survey.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The current survey found that the dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-
1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. While the dwelling is located within the
proposed La Quinta Cove Historic District, it is a non-contributor due to its architectural style and date of construction.
The dwelling has not been found individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with
significant events or patterns of events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible under Criterion B/2/B, as it
has not been identified as having an association with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does
not embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion
D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could be considered important in local, regional,
state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local Register Criterion A, as it
was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. As the dwelling has not been substantially altered, this
dwelling maintains integrity from the historic period.
