Tract: Santa Carmelita Unit No 9; Recorded September 30, 1934, MB 18/69
Owner and Address: Elsa Alvarez Diaz, Celia Renteria Rapan; 80724 Cottonwood Lane, Indio CA 92201
Updated Description: The 51125 Avenida Velasco residence was constructed in 1952 in the La Quinta Cove neighborhood. The
previous survey described the residence as a one-story single family home constructed in a Modern style. The residence was
described as having a square plan with a low-pitch hipped roof with open eaves, and an asymmetrical facade. The residence had
stucco walls with wood framed, fixed windows, and a large brick chimney. The residence had a flat roofed open veranda, supported
by three wood posts at the front elevation. During the current survey, the property was under construction, showing that the original
residence had recently been demolished. A portion of the wood frame and a small section of stucco remained. The dwelling on the
property had effectively been completely removed.
Updated Significance: A prior survey evaluated the property as status code 6Z - found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR, and Local
Register designation. The dwelling on the property that was initially recorded in 2006 by CRM TECH was demolished in ca. 2022. At
the time of the current survey, the dwelling had not yet been replaced. The historic resource is no longer extant. As such, the
property is not eligible for inclusion in the NRHP, CRHR, or Local Register.
