RESOLUTION NO. 2006-009
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA ADOPTING PROPOSALS,
REPROGRAMMING FUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR
2006-2007
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant(CDBG) Funds for
Fiscal Year 2006-2007 will be approximately $200,000 to begin July 1, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, the City of La Ouinta must submit to the Riverside County
Economic Development Agency project applications; and,
WHEREAS, a public notice was published on December 19, 2005,
announcing the availability of funds, requesting proposals, and public hearing dates;
and,
WHEREAS, the merits of all proposals were openly discussed and
considered; and,
WHEREAS, by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of La
Quinta, California, the following proposal(s), or reprogramming(s), were selected:

WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Funds for Fiscal
Year 2003-2004 in the amount of $2,600 were not expended on the approved project,
Downtown Lighting Improvement (Project No. 4.LO.027), the above amount shall be
reprogrammed to the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 for the approved CDBG public facility
improvement project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE "IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La
Quinta as follows:
1 . That the City of La Guinta does hereby select the above named project(s) or
reprogramming(s) ,for the use of· Community Development Block Grant funds.
2. That the City Council hereby directs the City Manager to prepare and submit the
designated applications"to the Riverside County Economic Development Agency
in a timely fashion proposing the named activities and use of funds .
3. If there is a shortfall in funding, the City Council directs the City Manager to
request the County to increase the City's public service cap in order to fully fund
public service approved applications.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La
Guinta City Council, held on this 17th dayof January, 2006, "by the following vote, to
wit:
