On January 5, 1998, the Community Development Department approved your request for
a six-month time extension for a temporary sales trailer at Painted Cove. The trailer was
to be removed by July 5, 1998, unless an extension of time was granted by the Community
Development Director.
The trailer is requested to be removed from the Painted Cove development by July 27,
1998, unless a time extension is granted by this Department on or before July 24, 1998.
Should you wish to extend this approval, please submit a written request as soon as
possible.

Dear Mr. Ministrelli:
On December 18, 1996, the Community Development Department approved the installation of a 20'
by 40' temporary sales trailer on Lots 12 and 13 of Tract Map No. 25429, subject to conditions.
Condition #1 allowed the sales trailer for an initial six month period with the possibly of another six-
month time extension. This permit has expired thereby requiring removal of the trailer on or before
January 5, 1998.
Should the trailer still be needed by your sales department, please make a written request explaining
the reasons for permitting the trailer to remain on-site. The Community Development Director may,
after reviewing the facts, extend the use of the trailer for a specific period of time.

SUBJECT: MINOR USE PERMIT 96-007 (SALES TRAILER)
Dear Mr. Ministrelli:
The Community Development Department hereby approves your application request to install a 20'
by 40' temporary sales trailer on bots 12 and 13 of Tract Map No. 25429 (Painted Cove), subject to
the following Conditions:
Once the trailer is installed, it can remain on-site for a six-month period. However, an
extension of the six-month period may be made in writing to the Community Development
Department before expiration. The Community Development Director may, after reviewing
the facts, extend the use of the trailer for another six-month period as provided by City
regulations.
2. Daily use of the trailer shall be limited to the hours of construction as listed in the La Quinta
Municipal Code (Chapter 6.08, Nuisances). A copy of this time schedule can be obtained
at the Building and Safety Department. ;
A building permit is required for the temporary trailer and temporary electric power. Please
apply to the Building and Safety Department for a permit (777-7012). The trailer shall be
self-contained and include bathroom and lavatory facilities for workers or employees unless
otherwise determined by the Building and Safety Director. The trailer shall be accessible to
the physically challenged. A site plan shall be submitted showing the location of the trailer
on the parcel when applying for a permit.
4. A building address shall be installed on the trailer to help identify the temporary business
location (e.g., minimum 3 -inch high letters in a contrasting color).
5. Provide one 2A1 OBC fire extinguisher inside the construction trailer and sign over the exit
door which states "Door to remain open during business hours." If you have any questions,
please contact Mr. Tom Hutchison, City Fire Safety Specialist at 863-8886.
6. The trailer, if elevated off the ground, shall be skirted with metal or wood siding material.
The sidning material shall be painted to match the exterior color of the construction trailer.
The exterior surfaces of the trailer shall be painted (or stuccoed) and be in overall good
condition.

7. No temporary signs are permitted unless separately approved by this Department.
8. No exterior lighting for the trailer is allowed unless approved by the Building and Safety
Department. All security light fixtures shall be hooded to prevent light glare from being cast
onto adjacent residential properties.
9. Mounted close to the front door shall be a written notice informing emergency personnel of
your 24-hour emergency phone number that they can calf in case problems arise that need
your prompt attention (i.e., minimum one -inch high letters).
10. The site shall be left free of debris when the trailer is removed. An appropriate method for
stabilization of all disturbed site areas upon termination of this use shall be submitted for
review to this Department, consistent with the provisions of Chapter 6.16 of the Municipal
Code (Fugitive Dust Control Ordinance). A Fugitive Dust Control Plan for this use shall not
be required as long as the intent of this Condition is complied with. A bond or certificate of
deposit in the amount of $2,000 shall be posted to insure removal of the trailer and
stabilization of the parcel with binder material. The guarantee shall be posted prior to
issuance of a building permit for the trailer.
11. Guest or employee parking is permitted on adjacent private streets because this is a temporary
facility. No parking is allowed on-site unless hardscape improvements are installed to reduce
dust (i.e., asphaltic paving, etc.).
12. Landscaping and irrigation improvements in front of the trailer shall be installed within 30 -
days of the trailer being installed. This Department shall approve the landscape plan prior to
installation.
13. The City may elect to add Conditions to this application request to mitigate any problems that
arise that are not addressed herein.

Dear Mr. Ministrelli:
The Community Development Department is unable to approve your request to install a temporary sales trailer
at 79-045 Coyote Creek based on Section 9.60.250 of the new Zoning Code which requires certain
improvements and parking for this type of use. We require that this prc;ect provide 10 off-street vehicle
parking spaces for employees and guests (i.e., Chapter 9.150 of the Zoning Code) and landscaping. If you
still want to pursue this request, please submit a parking lot and striping plan to the Public Works Department
and landscaping plan to this Department for review and approval. Please be aware that gravel parking lots
are not permitted. Lastly, if you have an existing temporary sales facility in the project, this facility must be
closed to permit this new request.
