SUBJECT: MINOR USE PERMIT 97-023
Dear Mr. Babb:
This letter is to report that the Community Development Department has approved your request
to have a temporary construction security trailer on site for the Topaz project (Tract 23935),
subject to the following conditions:
1. The temporary construction security trailer can remain on-site for a 60 -day period, to expire
on October 28, 1997. However, an extension of the 60 -day period may be made in writing
to the Community Development Department before expiration. The Community Development
Director may, after reviewing the facts, extend the use of the trailer for another 60 -day
period.
2. Use of the trailer shall be for 24 hours and shall be allowed to move about the project site as
work progresses for the purpose of project security. The trailer is permitted to be parked on
the street, within the construction zone, and not on a street with through traffic.
3. The construction security trailer shall be self-contained and include bathroom and lavatory
facilities for workers or employees unless otherwise determined by the Building and Safety
Director (i.e., freestanding portable toilets, etc.). Water and electrical hookups are permitted,
however, no sewage hookup or dumping on site is permitted.
4. Install one 2AIOBC fire extinguisher inside the construction security trailer by the exit
door, and provide a "Door to remain open during business hours" sign above the exit
door. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Tom Hutchison, City Fire Safety
Specialist at 863-8886.
5. No temporary signs are permitted unless separately approved by this Department.

6. No lighting is allowed unless approved by this Department prior to on-site installation. Should
security lighting be required for the project, all light fixtures shall be hooded to prevent light
glare from being cast onto adjacent properties or affecting the vision of passing motorists.
Tamper resistant light fixture covers are required to reduce vandalism.
7. Mounted close to the front door shall be a written ntice informing emergency personnel of
your 24-hour emergency phone number that they can call in case problems arise that need
your prompt attention (i.e., minimum 1 "high letters).
8. The site shall be left free of debris at completion of the project improvements.
9. The City may elect to add Conditions to this application request to mitigate any problems that
arise not addressed herein.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 777-7068.
