Ms. di Iorio,

This letter is to inform you about our Walls-a-Thon and to ask if we need
any permits or special instruction from your city. I have obtained the
necessary forms from the City of Indio, Indio City Hall, and the Sheriffs
Department. Also we realize we will be facing traffic throughout the walk
and would appreciate any advise or instructions on safety.
The ABC Recovery Center, Inc. is a non profit recovery home for people
who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs. We now house approximately
80 people, and have been in Indio and the Coachella Valley for about
thirty-five years. The residents put on several fund raising functions through
out the year. Proceeds go toward needed resident medical and personal
supplies. .
The Resident Council is hosting the Walls-a-Thon on November 22, 1997
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The route that we plan to take will start at the
ABC Recovery Center on Palm St. and Indio Blvd., heading west to Miles.
Going north on Miles to Washington (which puts us in the city of La
Quinta), then heading west to Highway 111. Our half -way mark is the
AM/PM Mini Market at the corner of Highway 111 and Washington St. At
this point we will turn around and preceed back to the ABC Club.
I look forward to hearing from you. We anticipate a very successful
turnout. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel
free to contact Mr. William White, Assistant Director of ABC Recovery
Center, Inc. or myself.
