SUBJECT: MINOR TEMPORARY OUTDOOR EVENT
Dear Mr. Herman,
La Quinta Country Club wishes to apply for a Minor Temporary Outdoor Event permit
for Saturday March 27, 1999.
La Quinta Country Club has chosen that date to celebrate its 40th Anniversary. The
entire evening has been in the planning stages since April 1998 and our party is now
taking shape as Mr. Andy Williams, a Club Member since 1966, has volunteered to
preform. What better way to finalize your 40th Anniversary out door dinner dance, with
Andy Williams entertaining, than with a fire works display?
We are proposing that our Members would arrive by 6:00 pm. Have cocktails and hors
d'oeuvres for one hour and move into a 120' X 120' tent for dinner, dancing, and
entertainment. It will take a least one and one half hours to serve our guests. Our show
would begin about 8:30-8:45pm. I am sure we will have several acts besides Mr. Williams
on stage that evening. We predict the show to finish by 10:00-10:15 pm. with the fire
works to follow. Our Members would exit the tent to view the fireworks display that
takes place on and above the driving range.
Mr. Richard DeSantos is assisting the Club with many of the details and I am assured he
will submit to the City any other permits that may be required for this nights activities.
As in the past we would be subject to the requirement of the Riverside County Fire
Department and we would notify neighboring properties 48 hours in advance of the
event.
The Proposed Use: Aerial and low level fire works display duration 6 - 8 minutes.
Location: 77-750 Avenue 50; golf course driving range.
Date: Saturday March 27, 1999

Maximum # of people attending event: 450 plus staff of 45

If there is an official City of La Quinta form that I must fill out for this event, would you
please advise me or mail one to my office. I am sure the City, like the Members of La
Quinta Country Club take great pride in our 40 year accomplishment and our place *in
the history of La Quinta.

LA QUINTA COUNTRY CLUB
