DEPOSITS RESULTING FROM ANY ACTIVITY RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION OCCURRING ON THE WATERED, PROCESSED AND COMPACTED IN THE LIFTS NOT TO EXCEED 6 INCHES IN
LOTS SHOWN ON THIS PLAN. CLEANING SHALL BE PERFORMED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THICKNESS TO OBTAIN A UNIFORMLY DENSE LAYER.
THE BUILDING OFFICIAL OR CITY ENGINEER.
8. WHEN THE MOISTURE CONTENT IS BELOW THAT SPECIFIED BY THE SOILS ENGINEER,
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE WIND EROSION AND DUST CONTROL MEASURES AS WATER SHALL BE ADDED BY THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL THE MOISTURE CONTENT IS NEAR
REQUIRED BY THE FUGITIVE DUST CONTROL PLAN APPROVED BEFORE THIS PROJECT. OPTIMUM AS SPECIFIED.
11. CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT WITHIN ONE HALF MILE 9. WHEN THE MOISTURE CONTENT IS ABOVE THAT SPECIFIED BY THE SOILS ENGINEER THE
k- OF HUMAN OCCUPANCY SHALL BE PERFORMED ONLY DURING THE TIME PERIODS AS MATERIAL SHALL BE AERATED BY BLADING, MIXING, OR OTHER METHODS SATISFACTORY

OCTOBER 1ST TO APRIL 30TH: MONDAY -FRIDAY 7:00 AM TO 5:30 PM
SATURDAY 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM 10. WHERE FILLS ARE MADE ON HILLSIDES OR EXPOSED SLOPE AREAS, GREATER THAN
MAY 1ST TO SEPTEMBER 30TH: MONDAY -FRIDAY 6:00 AM TO 7:00 PM TEN (10) PERCENT, HORIZONTAL BENCHES SHALL BE CUT INTO FIRM UNDISTURBED
SATURDAY 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM NATURAL GROUND TO PROVIDE A HORIZONTAL BASE SO THAT EACH LAYER IS PLACED
WORK SHALL BE PROHIBITED ANY TIME ON SUNDAY OR FEDERAL HOLIDAYS. AND COMPACTED ON A HORIZONTAL PLANE. THE INITIAL BENCH AT THE TOE OF THE
FILL SHALL BE AT LEAST TEN(10) FEET IN WIDTH ON FIRM, UNDISTURBED NATURAL

11. IF BURIED REMAINS ARE ENCOUNTERED DURING DEVELOPMENT, A QUALIFIED
ARCHAEOLOGIST SHALL BE CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY SO APPROPRIATE MITIGATION
MEASURES CAN BE TAKEN.
X 12. EARTH -MOVING AND WORKING OPERATIONS SHALL BE CONTROLLED TO PREVENT
WATER FROM RUNNING INTO EXCAVATED AREAS. EXCESS WATER SHALL BE PROMPTLY
REMOVED AND THE SITE KEPT DRY. FILL MATERIAL SHALL NOT BE PLACED, SPREAD
OR ROLLED DURING UNFAVORABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS. WHEN THE WORK IS
\`! INTERRUPTED BY HEAVY RAIN, - FILL OPERATIONS SHALL NOT BE RESUMED UNTIL FIELD
WEAKENED PLANE TESTS BY THE SOILS ENGINEER INDICATE THAT THE MOISTURE CONTENT AND DENSITY
JOINT AT 5' INTERVALS OF THE FILL ARE AS PREVIOUSLY SPECIFIED.
13. COMPACTION SHALL BE SHEEPSFOOT ROLLERS, VIBRATING SHEEPSFOOT ROLLERS,
► MULTIPLE -WHEEL PNEUMATIC -TIRED ROLLERS OR OTHER TYPES OF ACCEPTABLE
(DRWY) COMPACTING ROLLERS. ROLLERS SHALL BE OF SUCH DESIGN THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE
TO COMPACT THE FILL TO THE SPECIFIED DENSITY. ROLLING SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED
WHILE THE FILL MATERIAL IS WITHIN THE SPECIFIED MOISTURE CONTENT RANGE. ROLLING
OF EACH LAYER SHALL BE CONTINUOUS OVER ITS' ENTIRE AREA AND THE ROLLER SHALL
2' 112' MIN. 30' MAX. -- MAKE SUFFICIENT TRIPS TO INSURE THAT THE REQUIRED DENSITY HAS BEEN OBTAINED.
X 6" CURB & VrGUTTER 14. FILL AND BACKFILL SHOULD BE COMPACTED TO THE MINIMUM OF NINETY (90)
PERCENT OF MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY OBTAINED BY THE ASTM D 1557 TEST METHOD.
CONCRETE DRIVEWAY APPROACH 15. AUXILIARY STRUCTURES INCLUDING FREESTANDING OR RETAINING WALLS SHOULD
HAVE THE EXISTING SOILS 3' BENEATH THE BOTTOM OF THE FOOTING OF THE
STRUCTURE COMPACTED TO 90%. THE GRADING REQUIREMENTS APPLY TO THREE
(3) FEET BEYOND THE FACE OF WALLS.
4.5' 16. FIELD DENSITY TESTS WILL BE PERFORMED BY THE SOIL ENGINEER DURING GRADING
OPERATIONS. AT LEAST ONE (1) TEST SHALL BE MADE FOR EACH FIVE HUNDRED (500)
CUBIC YARDS OR FRACTION THEREOF PLACED WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) TESTS PER
l,o yam= LAYER IN ISOLATED AREAS. WHERE SHEEPSFOOT ROLLERS ARE USED, THE SOIL MAY BE
1/4" PER FT. MIN. (DRWY) DISTURBED TO A DEPTH OF SEVERAL INCHES. DENSITY TESTS SHALL BE TAKEN IN
COMPACTED MATERIAL BELOW THE DISTURBED SURFACE. WHEN THESE TESTS INDICATE
o - - - - - - - THAT THE DENSITY OF ANY LAYER OF FILL, OR PORTION THEREOF. IS BELOW THE
REQUIRED DENSITY, THIS PARTICULAR LAYER OR PORTION SHALL BE REWORKED UNTIL
THE REQUIRED DENSITY HAS BEEN OBTAINED.
SECTION X -X 17. THE METHODS FOR REMOVAL OF SUBSURFACE IRRIGATION AND UTILITY LINES WILL z

Fs METHODS MAY BE USED: 1) REMOVE THE PIPE AND COMPACT THE SOIL IN THE TRENCH
ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE PORTIONS OF THESE GRADING RECOMMENDATIONS, 2) THE
Jam. E PIPE SHALL BE CRUSHED IN THE TRENCH. THE TRENCH SHALL THEN BE FILLED AND +
