SUBJECT: Minor Use Permit 2001-274 for Searchlight use for Grand Opening
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Kreuter,
The Community Development Department has reviewed your request to use a two
light searchlight for your change of ownership grand opening in the parking lot area
in front of the La Quinta Car Wash (north side), as shown on the attached plan on
February 6, 2001. Pursuant to Sections 9.100.160, regulating searchlight use, the
following findings have been made:
1. The proposed searchlight use has been determined to be for a change of
ownership grand opening within a commercial center containing over 50,000
square feet.
Based on these findings, your Minor Use Permit application is hereby approved
subject to the following Conditions:
1 . Approval for MUP 2001-274 shall comply with all information as presented
in the application and contained in the case file, except where these
conditions shall take precedence.
2. All activities and equipment associated with this event shall be contained
within the approved event area and removed from the site upon completion
of the activities. Trash receptacles shall be provided for the duration of this
event, and the site shall be left clean of any litter.
3. Pursuant to Zoning Code Section 9.100.150M, the searchlight may be used
between dusk and 10 p.m. on February 6, 2001.
4. By holding the above noted event, the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend,
and hold harmless the City of La Quinta in the event of any legal claim or
litigation arising out of the City's approval of this event. The City of La Quinta
shall have the right to select its defense counsel in its sole discretion.

Should you wish to have a grand opening banner pursuant to Municipal Code Section
9.160.060 J, please apply to this department for a sign permit. It is allowed to be
a maximum 32 square feet and may be display for a maximum of thirty 30 days. We
understand that their will be several small game activities in the covered canopy area
