SUBJECT: ONE DAY FLOWER STAND AT LA QUINTA CAR WASH
MINOR USE PERMIT 2002-335
Dear Ms. Krueter:
The Community Development Department has approved your request to set up a Valentine's Day
flower stand, for a one -day sale of flowers. Please be aware that this approval only constitutes
an allowance of your parking area for the proposed temporary event.
This approval is granted under Section 9.100.110 of the La Quinta Zoning Code (Outdoor
Vendors), and is subject to the following conditions:
1. The vending is approved for February 14, 2002 only. All sale -related items shall be
removed by closing of the main business for that day.
2. No temporary structures (e.g. tents exceeding 200 square feet and/or canopies exceeding
400 square feet) are approved for this vendor.
3. Roadways/traffic aisles to structures and activities in and around the area will be
maintained accessible to emergency vehicles at all times.
4. All temporary electrical wiring to concession/vendor space shall be secured to prevent
physical hazards to the public and participants.
5. No supplementary entertainment, loudspeakers or other amplified voice or music is
permitted as part of this sale.
6. The serving of any food or alcoholic beverages at the event is not permitted, with the
exception of existing vendors currently in operation.
7. No advertising signs of any kind (i.e. typical freestanding signs, flags, banners, balloons,
and similar) are approved or permitted as part of this application. Temporary signs may
be permitted subject to the provisions of Section 9.160.060.
8. By establishment of this vendor, the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold
harmless the City of La Quinta in the event of any legal claim or litigation arising out of
the City's approval of this project. The City of La Quinta shall have the right to select its
defense counsel at its sole discretion. 4
