This sign program has been prepared for parcels 2, 7, 8, 9, & 10 plus the
Remainder Building On Parcel 5 in The Centre at La Quinta, located in the City of
La Quinta, California. A site plan indicating the parcels and buildings covered by
this sign program is attached. This sign program contains provisions for type,
size, location and design of building signs for buildings to be constructed on
these parcels.
A brief description of the building and building signs contemplated on each
parcel follows. Signs are shown on buildings where a schematic architectural
design of a building has been created. Where a schematic architectural design
has not been created text is provided indicating what signage would be allowed.
Parcel 2:
A single building of no more than 52,000 square feet is planned on this parcel.
In the event the building is occupied by a single tenant, building signage would
be allowed as stated in Exhibit 1A. If occupied by multiple tenants, building
signage would be allowed as stated in Exhibit 1 B. As no schematic design has
been developed for this building, the sign criteria is presented in text form.
Parcel 5:
One additional building, to be constructed south of the PetsMart building,
is planned. See Exhibit 2 for details.
Parcel 7:
A multi tenant building of approximately 11,000 square feet is planned. See
Exhibit 3 for details. (Proposed Signage is consistent with what was previously
approved for parcel 6)
Parcel 8•
A multi tenant building of approximately 11,000 square feet is planned. See
Exhibit 3 for details. Note: The sign criteria for Parcels 7 & 8 are identical.
(Proposed signage is consistent with what was previously approved for parcel 6).
Parcel 9:
A single tenant building of approximately 6,000 square feet is planned.
See Exhibit 4 for details.
Parcel 10:
A single tenant building of approximately 6,000 square feet is planned. No
schematic design has been developed for this building. See Exhibit 5 for text
detail of the sign criteria.

Allowable Signage (Single Tenant):
Allowable sign area for a single tenant user shall be subject to approval by the
Community Development Director. Signage shall be limited to the tenants trade
name and logo. The use of logo's is acceptable, but the size shall not exceed
36"x36" (see Detail #1). National chain tenant shall be allowed typical
trademark logo. Single tenant users shall be allowed signage on all four sides of
the. building. Maximum letter height for signage at front (north) side of building
shall be 54". The other three sides of the building shall have a maximum letter
height of 48". Individual letter ascenders or descenders may project up to 18"
above or below sign height zone.

Allowable Signage (Multi - Tenant):
Length of wall signs shall not exceed 70% of tenant storefront. Allowable sign
area for each tenant shall be at two (2) square feet per lineal foot of building
frontage to a maximum of 100 square feet. Signage shall be limited to Tenant's
trade name and logo. The use of logos is acceptable, but the size must not
exceed 36" x 36" (see Detail 1). National tenant shall be allowed typical trade-
mark logo. Shop tenants are limited to storefront elevation and rear elevation
signage only. Corner shop tenants are allowed signage on three sides. Individual
letter ascenders or descenders may project up to 18" above or below sign height
zone. Maximum letter height shall be 36". When two (2) lines of text are used,
sign height zone may be increased to 42".
Shop Pedestrian Walkway Sign:
A double -sided, non -illuminated hanging walkway sign at each shop entry is
limited to a maximum of three (3) square feet.

COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA APPROVING A PLANNED SIGN
PROGRAM FOR A COMMERCIAL CENTER
AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF
HIGHWAY 111 AND LA QUINTA DRIVE
CASE NO.: SIGN PROGRAM 2003-737
APPLICANT: STAMKO DEVELOPMENT CO.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of La Quinta, California,
did, on the 25`h day of November, 2003 hold a duly -noticed Public Hearing, to consider
a Planned Sign Program for a portion of the Centre at La Quinta commercial
development, Specific Plan 97-029, Amendment No. 1. The project area is generally
located at the southeast corner of Highway 1 1 1 and La Quinta Drive, more particularly
described as:
PARCELS 2, 7,8,9, 10 AND REMAINDER BUILDING ON PARCEL 5 OF
PARCEL MAP 30420
WHEREAS, said Planned Sign Program has complied with the
requirements of "The Rules to Implement the California Environmental Quality Act of
1970" as amended (Resolution 83-63). The City Council certified a Supplemental
Environmental Impact Report (State Clearing House No. 97011055 the Centre at La
Quinta Commercial Center, Specific Plan 97-029, Amendment No. 1. No changed
circumstances or conditions and no new information is proposed which would trigger
the preparation of a subsequent Environmental Assessment pursuant to Public
Resources Code Section 21166.
WHEREAS, at said Public Hearing, upon hearing and considering all
testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons wanting to be heard, said
Planning Commission did make the following mandatory findings of approval to justify
approving of said Sign Program:
1. That the proposed Sign Program is consistent with the goals and
policies of the La Quinta General Plan in that the property is designated
Regional Commercial which allows the uses and associated signs
proposed for the properties.
2. That the proposed Sign Program is consistent with the La Quinta Zoning
Code (Section 9.160.090 ) in that sign adjustments for additional area,
additional number, alternative placements, and alternative sign types
can be granted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of
