NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that:
1. On April 18, 2000, the La Quinta City Council passed Resolution 2000-32
authorizing assessments to pay for the construction of sewer improvements for the City of La
Quinta Assessment District No. 2000-1 (Phase VI improvements). The assessments have been
recorded in the Office of the County Clerk -Recorder of the County of Riverside. Your property,
which is identified by the Assessor Parcel Number listed above, is within the boundaries of the
Assessment District. The assessment on your property is shown above on the line labeled
"Assessment Amount".
2. On or before May 26, 2000, you may pay all or a portion of the assessment
amount. In order to make a payment, cut off the top of this notice and return it with your
payment. If you choose to pay all or a portion of your assessment now, please fill-in the
payment amount enclosed and return it to: City of La Quinta, Finance Director, 78-495 Calle
Tampico, La Quinta, CA 92253-1504. Please make your payment payable to The City of La
Quinta, with a notation on your check indicating Assessment District 2000-1.
3. If you snake a payment toward your assessment on or before May 26, 2000, you
will receive a credit for a proportionate share of the financing and bond issuance costs included
in the assessment. If you wish to pay off your assessment entirely, your pay-off amount will be
reduced by the full amount of the financing and bond issuance costs included in the "Assessment
Amount" shown above. The amount necessary to pay-off your .assessment on or before the May
26 deadline is shown above on the line labeled "30-Day Pay Off Amount". .
4. Please note, you do not have to pay-off the assessment at this time.
5. If you do not pay-off your assessment on or before May 26, 2000, bonds will be
issued for the unpaid. portion of the assessment. The bonds will be issued pursuant to the
Improvement Bond Act of 1915, Division 10 of the California Streets and Highways Code.
Installments of principal and interest on the bonds will be collected with your property tax bill
and subject to penalties for non-payment.
