nonrefundable fee of $200 is required when the Application is submitted. The check must be made payable to the "City of La
Quinta". A Minor Adjustment Permit (Section 9.210.040/Z,oning Ordinance) may be approved only for deviations of up to ten
percent of a numerical development standard (for example, a reduction of one foot from a ten -foot setback requirement) or for
deviations specifically identified in the La Quinta Zoning Ordinance. Other deviations shall require consideration of a variance
(pursuant to Section 9.210.030Nartance\Zoning Ordinance). If the Applicant is not the owner of the property, a letter must be
submitted by the owner authorizing the Applicant to execute this document in his behalf.

I am writing to you regarding the property on Calle Fortuna where a large barn -type shed has been erected
which has a negative impact on my property on Calle Guatemala.
My west facing yard to the mountain views is contained by an approximate five foot high concrete block wall.
The neighbor to the west, at 78235 Calle Fortuna, has a block wall one foot away from my wall and due to
grade differences is eight feet higher than my yard.
The owner at 78325 Calle Fortuna has recently erected a prefabricated metal barn that is 11 feet high from his
pad, (as verified by George Munoz,) code compliance officer for the City of La Quinta.
The offending barn structure is also within two feet of his block wall. It is unknown to me exactly where the
property line is, but it is very clear that city zoning laws have been ignored as to setbacks, ancillary buildings
and view sheds.
I would like the Planning Department to spell out for me the necessary setbacks, height limitations, possible
variance avenues and any text concerning view shed rights.
I am hoping that your response will be in keeping with your staffs quick response and visit to the site. They took
photos of the view of the shed from my yard, which I hope you will review..

A. Applicability. Accessory buildings, such as storage or gardening sheds, are permitted on a residential lot
containing a primary residence subject to the requirements of this section. (Carports and garages are regulated separately
by Section 9.60.060, patio covers by Section 9.60.040, swimming pools and spas by Section 9.60.070, and recreational
vehicle parking by Section 9.60.130.)
B. Drainage from Roofs. Accessory buildings shall be constructed ip a manner so as to prevent rooftop water from
draining onto any adjacent parcel.
C. Lot Coverage Maximums. The placement of accessory buildings on a lot shall not result in violation of the lot
coverage maximums set forth in Section 9.50.030. L '
D. Standards.
Setbacks and Maximum Height. Detached accessory buildings shall conform to the following setback standards:
