Item) 1 Pertains to the question of whether aluminum wire is being used within the power cabinet. Restwnse: No Aluminum wire is used within the power cabinet. As required by NEC Article 310-11 all wire is marked and is of type MTW or TFE copper or nickel - coated copper. (Reference NEC Table 310-13) Item 2 Pertains to the question of the proper grounding of a 15 amp circuit supplying the heater within the power cabinet. Response: The power cabinet meets the requirement of NEC Article 2.50-2 (b) Grounding Of Electrical Equipment, i.e., "conductive.materials enclosing electrical conductors or equipment shall be" grounded (Note: This question arose because. a 3 conductor SO cord type cable supplies the heater circuit with the green conductor cut at both ends and not used) SO type cable was used to provide flekibility and for rough service. Although 2 conductors are required for the circuit a 3 conductor cable may have been used as a result of 2 conductor -not being available. In conclusion NEC Article 90-7 is referenced here since the power cabinet is within the scope of this Code Section since it is Listed (see attached label) I hope the above information helps to resolve the issues with this site. ALL STEEL SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE "STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR STRUCTURAL STEEL" ASTM A572 (65 KSI YIELD POINT MATERIAL), EXCEPT WHERE NOTED ON SHEETS S-1, S-2 OR AS NOTED BELOW. 2. ALL STEEL PIPE SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF ASTM A500 GRADE C 46 KSI YIELD POINT MAT. 3. ALL STEEL SHALL BE HOT -DIPPED GALVANIZED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM A123. 4. WELDED CONNECTIONS SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST VERSION OF THE AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY A.W.S. D1.1 WELD ELECTRODES SHALL CONFORM TO E70 ELECTRODES. 5. ALL ANTENNA FEED LINES RUN INSIDE OF POLE SHAFT. 6. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHOULD RECEIVE SPECIAL INSPECTION ACCORDING TO SECTION 1701 OF THE 1998 CBC: A) CAISSON FOUNDATION: REINFORCING CAGE SHOULD BE INSPECTED TO ENSURE THAT THE PROPER GEOMETRY, SIZE, LENGTH, QUANTITY AND GRADE MATERIAL ARE USED. B) ANCHOR BOLTS: PLACEMENT SHOULD BE ORIENTED ON PROPER BOLT CIRCLE AS SHOWN ON THE STRUCTURAL PLANS, SHOULD BE PLUMB, SHOULD HAVE MINIMUM EMBEDMENT OF 6'-0" INTO CAISSON FOUNDATION (12" MAX PROJECTION), NUTS SHOULD BE TIGHTENED TO A SNUG TIGHT CONDITION PER AISC STEEL MANUAL OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION. C) ALL A325 BOLTS AND THREADED RODS: SHOULD BE TIGHTENED TO A SNUG TIGHT CONDITION PER THE AISC STEEL MANUAL OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION. D) ALL CONCRETE SHALL BE TESTED AS SPECIFIED BY ACI-318, LATEST EDITION, TO ENSURE THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH IS ATTAINED AS DESCRIBED IN THE FOUNDATION NOTES. ERECTION NOTES: 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ORIENT THE ANTENNA MOUNT AS REQUIRED BY THE OWNER. 2. GALVANIZED SURFACES DAMAGED DURING TRANSPORTATION OR ERECTION AND ASSEMBLY SHOULD BE TOUCHED UP USING COLD GALVANIZING PAINT. 3. TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS TO AISC SNUG TIGHT REQUIREMENTS. THE SNUG TIGHT CONDITION IS DEFINED AS THE TIGHTNESS THAT EXISTS WHEN ALL PLIES IN A JOINT ARE IN FIRM CONTACT, THIS MAY BE ATTAINED BY A FEW IMPACTS OF AN IMPACT WRENCH OR THE FULL EFFORT OF A MAN USING AN ORDINARY SPUD WRENCH. 1. ALL CONCRETE SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF AT LEAST 3000 PSI AT 28 DAYS. ALL CONCRETE WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH "THE BUILDING CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE", ACI 318, LATEST EDITION. FOUNDATION INSTALLATION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACI 336, "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DRILLED PIERS", LATEST EDITION. 2. REINFORCING STEEL SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A615 (GRADE 60) EXCEPT THAT CAISSON TIES MAY BE ASTM A615 (GRADE 40). ALL REINFORCING DETAILS SHALL CONFORM TO "MANUAL OF STANDARD PRACTICE FOR DETAILIN REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES", ACI 315, LATEST EDiTION, UNLESS DETAILED CN i'iilS DRAWING. 3. SEE ELEVATION/S-1 FOR ANCHOR BOLT QUANTITY, SIZE, LENGTH, AND BOLT CIRCLE. 4. TOTAL CONCRETE = 13.5 CUBIC YARDS. 5. FOUNDATION DESIGN BASED UPON GEOTECHNICAL EXPLORATION REPORT: PREPARED BY . . . .
