SECTION A - GENERAL
1) Provide on each sheet of resubmitted Plans and cover sheet of bound Calculations the preparer's name and
telephone number and wet -signature. If the preparer is a licensed architect or engineer, all documents
prepared by that licensed individual shall also bear his/her stamp as prescribed by California Business and
Professions Code §5536. Resubmittals will not be accepted with signatures missing.
2) Note on Plans:. "All construction shall comply with the 2010 California Residential, Mechanical, Electrical,
Plumbing, Energy, and Green Building Codes and the La Quinta Municipal Code." Remove notes referencing
other Codes. '

SECTION E — ELECTRICAL
1) Provide at least 50 percent of the total wattage installed for kitchen illumination from high -efficacy
luminaires. A kitchen lighting worksheet shall be provided on plan detailing proposed fixture wattage, lamp
type and efficacy rating that clearly identifies compliance with California Energy Code § 150(k)8.
2) Telephone jacks are required in all habitable rooms except aDining area which is immediately adjacent to a
Kitchen or Living Room. (LQMC §8.03.050) Show all telephone jack locations on Plan.
3) Cable Television outlets are required in all habitable rooms except Kitchens and Dining area. (LQMC
§8.03.050) Show all television jack locations on Plan.
4) Note on Plans: "Aluminum conductors are permitted only if size 1/0 or larger, and only to feed main or sub -
panels. All other current carrying conductors shall be copper." (LQMC §8.03.040)
5) Note on Plans: "Provide at least two 20 -ampere small appliance branch circuits to serve all wall, floor, and
countertop receptacles in kitchen, pantry, breakfast room, dining room, or similar area. Such circuits shall
have no other outlets." (CEC §210.11(C)(1) and 210.52(B)(1) through 210.52(B)(3))
6) Specify GFCI protection for receptacles serving the kitchen countertop. (CEC §210.8(A)(6))
7) Kitchen, pantries, breakfast rooms, dining rooms, and similar area receptacles shall comply with the
following: (CEC §210.52(C)):
a) Provide a receptacle outlet at each wall counter space 12 inches or wider.
b) Provide receptacle outlets at each wall counter so that no point along the wall line is more than 24 inches,
measured horizontally from a receptacle outlet in that space.
c) Provide at least one receptacle outlet at each island counter space with a long dimension of 24 inches or
greater and a short dimension of 12 inches or greater.
d) Provide at least one receptacle outlet at each peninsular counter space with a long dimension of 24" or
greater and a short dimension of 12" or greater. A peninsular countertop is measured from the connecting
edge.
SECTION F - PLUMBING
1) PLUMBING SHALL BE PER 2010 CALIL BUILDING CODES VENTS, SLEEVES FOR GAS LINES
CLEAN -OUTS ETC.
2) No gas'piping shall be installed in or on the ground under any building or structure unless installed in gastight

conduit, including piping under covered patios. Show location and provide detail of pipe and conduit
installation. (CPC § 121r1.1.6)
SECTION G — ENERGY EFFICIENCY
1) Show all required energy efficient (High -efficacy) lighting on Electrical plan. Provide the wattage of
luminaires on plan or in a legend that corresponds with the proposed switching requirements demonstrating
compliance with the California Energy Code, Section 150(k) 1 — 14. A clear description/details of the high
efficacy (fluorescent) and alternate -lighting (incandescent, etc.) is required. See electrical plan.
Informational Items:
a) Kitchen. At least 50 percent of the total wattage must be from high -efficacy luminaires. Adjacent areas
(nook, butler's pantry, etc.) are considered as kitchen if the lighting' for the adjacent areas is on the same
switch as the lighting for the kitchen. For incandescent luminaires, the wattage used in calculations is the
highest relamping rated wattage of the fixture.
b) Living Room, dining room, bedrooms, hallways, etc. (spaces other than kitchens, bathrooms, garages,
laundry rooms and utility rooms) Permanently installed luminaries that are not high efficacy are allowed
provided they are controlled by a dimmer switch or manual -on occupant sensor(s). Closets less than 70 square
feet in area may have low -efficacy (incandescent) luminaries. (California Energy Code § 150(k) 4)
