I am the official issuer of addresses in the City of La Quinta. Both of these properties lie fully within the City of La Quinta, in spite of the Thermal, CA notations on the transaction history reports; hence, my notations on the Assessor's Parcel Maps. This question originally came to my attention in 2012, when the Daugards contacted Kay Hensel (my former employee) with concerns of mail being delivered to the wrong house (north/south or south/north). I Because the northerly parcel has frontage on Avenue 58, the City deems the address (81773 Avenue 58) suitable for that parcel, with no reason to change it, despite the practical matter of where one drives to visit the home.. Because the southerly parcel does not abut Avenue 50, it was appropriate to assign an address (58300 Almonte) to facilitate proper mail delivery. With clearer proof of an access easement on the paved portion of Almonte, I would be happy to generate an official change of address letter for the southerly parcel (and the northerly parcel, for that matter, should the Daugards desire it. We were able to locate one recorded for the property located next to them for the Miller property, which has the same address it appears. Recently Mr. Miller has requested an address change from the city to 58300 Almonte Drive. I need some verification from the city on the address change, and the current address of 81773 Avenue 58 for the Duagards. The other issue I have is I need some information on who maintains the private road. Generally we ask for a private road maintenance agreement, but that usually is when multiple people have some ownership in a road.
