Patio covers utilizing the enclosure system must be capable of resisting lateral loads imposed on the enclosure system. Enclosure walls are constructed in accordance with Sheets No. 1 and 2, and roof panels are constructed in accordance with Sheet No. 3 of the attached plans, identified as Drawing No. 230 ICBO, dated August 8, 1997. The patio covers may be partially enclosed as specified in Appendix Chapter 31 of the UBC. Required openings must remain open, be covered with insect screen or be glazed with readily removable trans- lucent or transparent plastic not exceeding 0.125 inch (3.2 mm) in thickness. Wall panels completing the enclosure must be recognized under a current evaluation report. 2.2 Weatherlock II Roof Panels: Weatherlock II panels are structural roof panels of varied lengths, 48 inches (1220 mm) wide and 3 inches (76 mm) thick. The panels have 0.024 -inch -thick (0.610 mm) alumi- num facings and a nominal 1.5 pcf (24 kg/m3) polystyrene foam plastic core, and are manufactured in accordance with the quality control manual. Sheet No. 3 provides panel details and allowable spans. 2.3 Identification: An identification tag attached to each Series 230 Patio Enclo- sure bears the name and address of the manufacturer, design loads and evaluation report number (ICBG ES ER -4590P). Weatherlock II panels are labeled with the manufacturer's name and address, and the name of the quality control agency (Southwest Research Institute). 3.0 EVIDENCE SUBMITTED Calculations, plans and data complying with the ICBO ES Ac- ceptance Criteria for Sandwich Panels (AC04), dated July 1996, the ICBG ES Acceptance Criteria for Foam Plastic In- sulation (AC12), dated January 1996, manufacturing stand- ards, a quality control manual and installation instructions. 4.0 FINDINGS That the Series 230 Patio Enclosure complies with Ap- pendix Chapter 31 of the 1994 Uniform Building Code-, subject to the following conditions: 4.1 Installation is in accordance with the attached plans dated August 8, 1997, and the manufacturer's instructions. 4.2 Roof live or snow loads are a maximum 38 psf (1820.2 Pa) as noted in the attached plans. 4.3 Installation is limited to areas subject to maximum basic wind speeds of 70, 80 and 85 mph, as noted in the attached plans. 4.4 The Weatherlock II panels are produced at 5005 Veterans Memorial Highway, Holbrook, New York 11741, and inspected by Southwest Research Insti- tute (NER-0A409). 1996 Accumulative Supplement: This report is unaffected by the supplement.
