COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION
MINUTES
JULY 25, 1988
Regular meeting of the Community Services Commission was called
to order at the hour of 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Rothschild,
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: Commissioners Beck, Jaffy, Ladner, Mendoza,
Chairman Rothschild
ABSENT: Commissioners Molina, Pina
PUBLIC COMMENT - None
INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS
Ms. Kay Ladner was introduced to the Commission.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
a. Letter from Coachella Valley Recreation and Park District
expressing appreciation to the Commission for their support.
Noted and filed.
OLD BUSINESS
A. COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Human Services Committee
Mr. Beck advised Ms. Ladner on the areas that the
Human Services Committee gets involved in.
A brief discussion ensued on the need to have input
from the community with the Commission asking that
there be an article in the newsletter asking for
citizen input.
MOTION - It was moved by Mrs. Mendoza, seconded by Ms.
Jaffy that Mrs. Juhola be asked to outline the purpose
of the Community Services Commision and asked for
citizen input in the next newsletter. Motion carried
unanimously.

3. Culture and Fine Arts.
Mrs. Mendoza advised that the Library opened on this
date; however, the official opening celebration will be
held at 10:00 A.M. on September 22nd.
B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MAY 31, 1988.
MOTION - It was moved by Ms. Jaffy, seconded by Mrs. Mendoza
that the minutes of May 31st be approved as submitted.
Motion carried unanimously.

pressing items for consideration in August, that the August
meeting be cancelled. Motion carried unanimously.
