The Commissioners reviewed and discussed the report
of the sub-committee and generally concurred that
changes are needed in order to stimulate interest
in the program.
Following discussion, the Commissioners concurred
on awarding five awards during December for the
most beautiful holiday decorated homes.
Commissioners also concurred that there is a need
to recognize home-owners who put in water efficient
landscaping. Therefore, they concurred that for
one year, beginning January 1992, that one award be
given each month for the most beautifully
landscaped home with water efficient landscaping.
It was pointed out that there could be two awards
in any given month, if a business is also nominated
and selected.
Discussion also ensued regarding publicity of the
program, with a suggestion being made that a flyer
be made for distribution to the school children to
take home and that pUblic service announcements on
radio be made.
MOTION - It was moved by Commissioners Franke/Nard
that the La Quinta Beautiful/Most Improved programs
remain until December 1991 with modifications
beginning January 1992, rename the program
