SORREGONDENCE & WRITTEN MATERIAL ITEM A. 'OF'['Nt', COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING DATE: October 12, 1998 ITEM TITLE: Park Master Plan - Property behind La Quinta Middle School BACKGROUND: At the September 14, 1998 Community Services Commission meeting, Commissioner Pedersen Nadler requested information from staff regarding the property located behind the La Quinta Middle School. Currently, the School District has the area behind the La Quinta Middle School fenced off due to construction debris from the reinstallation of portables at the school. City staff is working with School District staff to enlarge the area, to clean the debris, and to plant grass. Future development of a track is not likely due to the growth in population at the school. Once the construction of the new Middle School is complete, the portables will be removed from the current site, and the track could possibly be developed at that time.
