(1) Regarding Detail 6/2 : The blocking and nailing at the top plate of the walls is designed to transfer the shear forces to the roof diaphram. Therefore, it is proper for the sheathing to terminate at the top plate of the wall. (2) The chimney framing need not be sheathed as it was deducted from the wall length in the lateral analysis.
