CORR.ORITTEN MATERIAI s 4 of COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING DATE: October 9, 2000 ITEM TITLE: Jefferson Street Information BACKGROUND: At the September 11, 2000 Community Services Commission meeting, Commissioner Rebich asked if the property west of Jefferson Street was located in the City of La Quinta. Attachment A is a map of the City of La Quinta and its boundaries. There is land located east of Jefferson Street that is within the City's boundaries. Commissioner Rebich also asked about the directional sign at the corner of Hwy. 1 1 1 and Jefferson Street which says "Indio" on the sign and lists several housing developments located in La Quinta. The sign is provided by the Building Industry Association, and developers "advertise" on these signs by placing their development on the sign with a directional arrow. Each developer pays a fee to be represented on the sign. Attachment A: Chamber of Commerce Map of La Quinta SaCommumty Servlces'CSCommWWrltten Correspondence 100900.wpd
