IOSINESS ITEM A. 4 a�w y OF T1° COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING DATE: March 12, 2001 ITEM TITLE: Youth Workshop April 18, 2001 RECOMMENDATION: As deemed appropriate by the Community Services Commission. BACKGROUND: At the January 8, 2001 Community Services Commission meeting, the Commission was provided a mailing list of last year's Youth Workshop participants. The Commissioners would review the list and provide staff with corrections, additions or deletions. Staff has prepared the letter to be sent to participants. In the past, the Commissioners have called the participants that have not responded to the invitation, to encourage their participation. The invitation letter requests a response by Friday, April 6, 2001. Should the Commission so desire, the list will be equally divided and delivered to the Commissioners so that non -responding participants can be called. The list can be delivered to the Commissioners on Monday, April 9 via fascimile or personally delivered. ALTERNATIVES: The alternatives available to the Commission include: 1. Direct staff to deliver invitee list to Commissioners by April 9 so that the Commissioners may contact invitees to encourage particpation; or 1 41f 2,�iovide f with alternate direction. BACKGROUND: Marni Francisco will be present at the March 12 Commission meeting to give the Commission an update on the picnic progress and to determine specific tasks the Commissioners will perform for the picnic and birthday celebration.
