MINUTES
October 8, 2001
CALL TO ORDER

It was moved by Commissioners Rebich/Bechard to approve Consent Calendar as submitted. Unanimc
PUBLIC HEARING
BUSINESS ITEMS
A. Washington Street Park Name
Staff presented a brief staff report regarding two names submitted by the residents of the ~
surrounding the Washington Street Park. The two names submitted include: Saguaro Park of
Desert and Desert Club Manor Park. Mrs. Helen Marie Nelson represented her submissiol
Desert Club Manor Park. She presented a tract map from 1947 in which the area where the ~
is being developed was called Desert Club Manor. She would like to see a sign placed on the I
wall that was placed around the housing development. Once people know where Desert (
Manor is located, the park, Desert Club Manor Park, would be identified with the area.
After some discussion, the Commission directed staff to talk to the Community Developn
Department for the process involved with having the Desert Club Manor development ottic
recognized. Once this has been determined, the Community Services Commission will cons
park names. This item is to be brought back for consideration at the next meeting.
B. Adams Street Surfacing Grant
Staff gave an overview of the California Integrated Waste Management Board Waste

is in need of replacement. After some discussion, the Commission authorized the Chairpersor
sign a letter of support for the grant application.
It was moved by Commissioners BoudreaulDavis that the Community Services Commiss
support the City's submission of a grant application to the CIWMBWTPCGP. Unanimous.
C. November Meeting Date
The November meeting date for the Community Services Commission falls on Veteran's Day'
year. After sorne discussion, the Commission selected Monday, November 5 as the Novem
meeting date.
It was moved by Commissioners Davis/Rebich that the Community Services Commission meel
Monday, November 5, 2001. Unanimous.
CORRESPONDENCE AND WRITTEN MATERIALS
A. Tiny Tot Halloween Carnival
Marni Francisco, Recreation Supervisor is requesting the Commission's help at this year's Tiny
Halloween Carnival. Commissioners Rebich and Bechard volunteered to attend. Commissio
St. Johns will be unable to attend and Commissioner Davis will check his schedule.

A. Youth Workshop: Commissioner Rebich gave an overview of the Youth Workshop. Both she i
