Vice-Chairperson Rebich presided over tt ing. Commissioner Davis led the Pledge of Allegiance. IBERS PRESENT: Commissioner Bechard (excused) Commissioner Michele Boudreau Commissioner Mike Davis Commissioner Joan Rebich Commissioner Victoria St. Johns (excused) =F PRESENT: Dodie Horvitz, Community Services Director JoAnne Barnes, Community Services Secretary IS moved by Commissioners Boudreau/Davis to excuse Commissioners Bechard and St. Johl the meeting of June 10, 2002. Unanimous. 'UBLlC COMMENT None. CONFIRMATION OF AGENDA :ONSENT CALENDAR A. Approval of Minutes of May 13, 2002 B. Monthly Department Report for April 2002 It was moved by Commissioners Boudreau/Davis to place the Minutes of the May 13, 20( meeting on the next agenda for approval. Unanimous. It was moved by Davis/Boudreau approve the monthly department report. Unanimous. PUBLIC HEARING BUSINESS ITEMS A. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update Staff reported that the consultant that is providing the update has undergone sor emergency medical procedures and therefore has not been able to produce the rep< \\CLQADMFS 1 \SHARED\Community Services\CSComm\minutesCSC\2002\CSCMIN.06-] 0-02.doc ul for review. Ho_er, staff is anticipating the report 'be ready for review at the JI meeting. Staff gave an overview of the current projects and upcoming recreational facilities tl may be presented in the near future, such as the expansion to the Boys and Girls C facility. The Commissioners asked about the possibility of a dog park being built in the nl future. Staff reported that the dog park is listed as an add project in the Capi Improvement Program, and therefore not slated for development during the next fis year. CORRESPONDENCE AND WRITTEN MATERIALS COMMISSIONER ITEMS A. Commissioner Rebich requested information regarding the delayed response time a fire in the cove last week. She stated that from the time of the 911 call until the' department got to the location was 15 minutes. She would like to have m information so that when the Commission is asked to support the fire tax, . Commission can have a response as to the delayed time. B. Commissioner Rebich stated that she had not reapplied for the Commission. She that her time could be better spent doing worthwhile activities. She felt as thol staff and the City Council under utilize the Commission. C. Commissioner Rebich was concerned that the Commission was not contacted priol the information being printed in the paper that the City was purchasing land for golf course. Staff explained that land acquisition is one of the three areas that City Council can consider in closed session, and the press found out about the Ii purchase when the City Council announced their final action. There was very Ii time for staff to contact the Commission from the announcement to the publica1 in the newspaper. D. Commissioner Davis asked about the tennis court lights at Fritz Burns Park. Staff g an update on the project to rehab the lights at the Tennis Courts, that work she begin the end of June on that project. E. Commissioner Davis also asked to be included in the discussion regarding the Wi feature at the Community Park.
