The Model 568D Deluxe Condensing Units are designed to pro-
vide quiet, reliable, and economical cooling performance. The
all-new exterior design, with pleasing silver sage and jade exte-
rior, blends well with plants and shrubbery. SEER ratings to
10.55 when used with components as designated by manu-
facturer.'
FEATURES
HIGH EFFICIENCY -High energy efficiency is obtained by siz-
ing the heat transfer surface and using the bestcomponents
available to create a system that provides the most cooling out-
put for the least energy input. The 568D is a high -efficiency, full
line of condensing units built specifically for the energy -
conscious consumer.
WEATHER -PROTECTIVE CABINET—Steel-is protec:ed with a
heavy coating commonly called "galvanizing," then coated with
a layer of zinc phospt, aie .to which a coat of . alkvd melamine
enamel is appiied and baked -on. This provides eac- unit with a
hard, smooth finish that will last for many years. All screws on
the cabinet exterior are stainless steel for a lone -lasting, rust -
resistant, quality appearance.
TOTALLY ENCLOSED FAN MOTOR—Means greater reliability
under rain and snow conditions, and dependable performance
for many years. Permanent -split -capacitor -type motors promote
more economical operation.
UNIT DESIGN—The large wrap-around condenser coil is
designed for optimum heat transfer. Vertical air discharge car-
ries sound and hot condenser air up and away ,from adjacent
patio areas and foliage. Electrical controls are near top of unit for
easy access during installation and servicing. The condenser
fan motor can be removed with the top cover when servicing. is
required. A 3,18 -inch space is provided between rows of com-
posite coils to permit cleaning with a common garden hose. A
divider, panel is installed between compressor and coil section,
so unit can be checked and serviced while operating.
EXTERNAL SERVICE VALVES—The service valves are brass
and are externally located so refrigerant tube connections can
be made quickly and easily. Each valve has a service port for
ease of checking operating refrigerant pressures.
EASY SERVICEABILITY—One access panel provides access to
the electrical controls and compressor J -box. Removal of the
top gives access to the coil and removal of the corner panel
gives complete access to the compressor and coil return bands..
COMPRESSOR PROTECTION—Each compressor is Protected
with temperature- and current -sensitive overloads. An internal
pressure relief valve provides high-pressure protection to the
refrigerant system.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT—An impressive array of equipment
standard on every 568D includes a crankcase heater with ther-
mostatic control, a fully insulated compressor compartment, a
low-pressure switch, a filter -drier, compressor hard -start com-
ponents, and external brass refrigerant valves.

These evaporator coils offer a host of features to make ;
cooling system perform efficiently and economically. Thi
coils are available in seven nominal cooling sizes ranginc
from 18.000 through 60,000 Btuh; with or without casings
Each coil is equipped with flare refrigerant tubing fitting
to readily accept the optional connecting .tubing requirec
between the condensing unit and the evaporator coil.
FEATURES
COIL DESIGN -These coils are specially designed for use
with remote condensing units. Optimum refrigerant -to -air
heat transfer is accomplished by the tight bond between
the mechanically expanded tubing and the fins. Rippled -
surface plate fin desion maximizes cooling and minimizes
pressure drop of the circulating air.
Models 518A Cased Coils and Models 507D Uncased Coils
can be installed in either upflow or counterflow applica-
tions. Sizes 018 and 024 are slab coils and size 030 thru
060 are A -coils. Accessory casings are available for the.
uncased coils. Optional adapter and casing expander kits
are available.
The 5068 Cased Horizontal Coil rounds out this family of
coils.
The 018- and 024 -size coils are equipped with cap. tubes
for refrigerant metering, and the 030 through 060 sizes
have a Check -Flo -Rater. An optional thermal expansion
valve is avaiiable for sizes 030 through 060.
EXPANDABLE CASING—The_518A Coil casings from 024
through 048 sizes can be expanded in width by using an
optional expander kit. This permits using a small coil with a
large furnace..
CONDENSATE PAN—Deep-drawn U-shaped design per-
mits better condensate drainage. Single -piece construc-
tion eliminates seams and leaks. Each is equipped with a
3/4 -in. FPT drain connection. Model 5066 has a primary
and secondary drain connection.
FACTORY -SEALED TUBING KIT—The refrigerant tubing
kits are available in lengths from 10 through 50 feet. They,
are equipped with flare fittings for easy field installation.
The suction tube is factory insulated to prevent condensa-
tion and heat transfer loss.
