May 20th: Land Use, Circulation, Open Space, Par and Recreation June loth: Natural Resources, Environmental Hazard Water Conservation, Air Qualit Infrastructure, Public Services You are invited to attend two joint meetings of the City Council and Planning Commission. Your concerns and comments at these meetings will help the City to update growth and development policies of the General Plan. These workshops will provide an opportunity for residents of La Quinta to participate in the planning process updating the City's General Plan. Materials will be available the night of the meeting. Further information concerning this meeting may be obtained by the public Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Planning and Development Department, La Quinta City Hall, 78-105 Calle Estado, La Quinta, CA. MINUTES JOIWrr MEETIWC:; OF THE CITY CC31J TCIL AND P'LANwikgcT " COMMISSION June 10, 1992 Mayor Pena called the joint meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission together at 7 : 03 P.M., and led the flag salute. ROLL CALL: Councilman Sniff, Bohnenberger, and Mayor Pena Planning Commissioners Mosher, Marrs, Ellson, and Chairwoman Barrows Councilmember Sniff moved to excuse Councilmembers Rushworth and Franklin, Councilmember Bohnenberger seconded the motion. It carried unanimously. Commissioner Mosher moved to excuse Commissioner Ladner and Commissioner Ellson seconded the motion. It carried unanimously. Mayor Pena introduced Principal Planner Fred Baker who in turn introduced the consultants for the General Plan update, Mr. John McNamara, Mr. Jon Vlaming of BRW, Inc. to the Council, Commission and audience. Mr. McNamara stated this would be the last of the public meetings on the General Plan as they would be starting the public hearing process before the Planning Commission and City Council starting in July. Tonights presentation would consist of Elements pertaining to Environmental Conservation, Infrastructure/Public Services, Environmental Hazards, and Air Quality. Following a presentation by BRW members of the audience made comment regarding the following: 1. Clarification regarding the flood zone map. 2. The possibility of the City being placed in one school district rather than split between two. 3. Questioned where the figures came from regarding health care. 4. Clarification on how to read the seismic map. 5. Whether there was or could be, a conflict between water conservation and air quality. Councilmember Dale Bohnenberger left the meeting at this time (8:30 P.M.) . The meeting of the City Council was adjourned due to lack of a quorum. Following the discussion relative to the above items, Dr. Tinberg and Mr. David Broadhead both addressed the Council regarding their properties being allowed to stay zoned as they are in the current General Plan. There being no further discussion, Mr. McNamara turned the meeting back to Mayor Pena. Mayor Pena thanked everyone for their attendance and asked for motion to adjourn. Mayor Pro Tem Sniff moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:49 P.M. Mayor Pena seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
