Dear Ms. Lazzarini:
As requested by the County of Riverside Environmental Health, we have reviewed the referenced
plans prepared by Gabriel King and a letter prepared by the County of Riverside Environmental
Health Department. The purpose of our review was to review the project plans relative to the
proposed construction of the septic system for Lot 2 at the subject site. As currently proposed, the
septic system is slated to be located in the front yard area, in the western one-half. Based on our
review of the grading and paving plan prepared by Lloyd Watson (Ref. #2), the original contour
elevation in the vicinity of the proposed leach field area was approximately 464.5 feet above sea
level. A review of the proposed plans prepared by Gabriel King (Ref. #3) suggests that some
cutting occurred within the street area during the construction of Mountain View Lane. The
existing elevation in the area of the proposed leach field is estimated to range between 63.0 and
63.5. The proposed finish grades are to be between 62.3 and 62.4. Based in this information,
there appears to be a cut -of approximately 1.5 feet. The percolation tests performed in 1991, in the
vicinity of Lot 2, were performed at a depth of approximately 4 -feet below existing grade. Based
on our review of these documents, it is our opinion that the percolation tests are applicable to the
proposed construction. However, we recommend that the leach lines not be deeper than 3 -feet,
and that a representative of this firm is called to observe the bottom of the leach lines to verify the
soil conditions. If the soil types exposed are different than those tested; additional
recommendations and/or testing may be required.
