Shear wall #1 located at the northeast corner of the building is lacking a post and hold-down at the south end of the wall. Shear wall #6 has enough residual shear capacity to compensate for the reduced effectiveness of shear wall #1. 3. An extra truss has been nailed directly to the wall studs supporting the taller roof over the den.
