SECTION A - GENERAL
1) Provide the Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) and complete legal description of Project on the first sheet of
Plans. Note that lot numbers do not include letters. For example, "Lot 16; Tract 29349-1" is a valid legal
description; "Lot 36B at [Club Name]" is not.
2) Provide on each sheet of resubmitted Plans and cover sheet of bound Calculations the preparer's name and
telephone number and wet -signature. If the preparer is a licensed architect or engineer, all documents
prepared by that licensed individual shall also bear his/her stamp as prescribed by California Business and
Professions Code §5536. Resubmittals will not be accepted with signatures missing.
3) Note on Plans: "All construction shall comply with the 2013 California Residential, Mechanical, Electrical,
Plumbing, Energy, and Green Building Codes and the La Quinta Municipal Code." Remove notes referencing
other Codes.
SECTION D - MECHANICAL
1) Note on Plans: "Ducts used for kitchen range ventilation shall be of metal and shall have smooth interior
surfaces." (CMC §504.2)
2) Show thirty (30) inch clearance above range or cooktop to unprotected combustible material, or twenty-four
(24) inch clearance to metal ventilating hood. (CMC §916.1(B), §916.2(B))
SECTION E — ELECTRICAL
1) Note on Plans: "Aluminum conductors are permitted only if size 1/0 or larger, and only to feed main or sub -
panels. All other current carrying conductors shall be copper." (LQMC §8.03.040)
2) Note on Plans: "Provide at least two 20 -ampere small appliance branch circuits to serve all wall, floor, and
countertop receptacles in kitchen, pantry, breakfast room, dining room, or similar area. Such circuits shall
have no other outlets." (CEC §210.11(C)(1) and 210.52(B)(1) through 210.52(B)(3))
3) Show the location of all existing and proposed smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. (CRC Chapter 1,
§106.1.1)
SECTION F - PLUMBING
1) No gas piping shall be installed in or on the ground under any building or structure unless installed in gastight
conduit, including piping under covered patios. Show location and provide detail of pipe and conduit
installation. (CPC § 1211.1.6)
SECTION G — ENERGY EFFICIENCY
1) [Principally for alterations] Provide complete Energy Calculations showing compliance with the 2013
California Energy Code for this project. The CF -IR -ALT form shall be used to document the minimum
energy requirements needed for alterations to an existing dwelling. Please note that once further information
is provided a Performance Compliance method may be required to show compliance.

SECTION A - GENERAL
1) Provide the Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) and complete legal description of Project on the first sheet of
Plans. Note that lot numbers do not include letters. For example, "Lot 16, Tract 29349-1" is a valid legal
description; "Lot 36B at [Club Name]" is not.
2) Provide on each sheet of resubmitted Plans and cover sheet of bound Calculations the preparer's name and
telephone number and wet -signature. If the preparer is a licensed architect or engineer, all documents
prepared by that licensed individual shall also bear his/her stamp as prescribed by California Business and
Professions Code §5536. Resubmittals will not be accepted with signatures missing.
3) Note on Plans: "All construction shall comply with the 2013 California Residential, Mechanical, Electrical,
Plumbing, Energy, and Green Building Codes and the La Quinta Municipal Code." Remove notes referencing
other Codes.
SECTION D - MECHANICAL
1) Note on Plans: "Ducts used for kitchen range ventilation shall be of metal and shall have smooth interior
surfaces." (CMC §504.2)
2) Show thirty (30) inch clearance above range or cooktop to unprotected combustible material, or twenty-four
(24) inch clearance to metal ventilating hood. (CMC §916.1(B), §916.2(B))
SECTION E — ELECTRICAL
1) Note on Plans: "Aluminum conductors are permitted only if size 1/0 or larger, and only to feed main or sub -
panels. All other current carrying conductors shall be copper." (LQMC §8.03.040)
2) Note on Plans: "Provide at least two 20 -ampere small appliance branch circuits to serve all wall, floor, and
countertop receptacles in kitchen, pantry, breakfast room, dining room, or similar area. Such circuits shall
have no other outlets." (CEC §210.1 l(C)(1) and 210.52(B)(1) through 210.52(B)(3))
3) Show the location of all existing and proposed smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. (CRC Chapter 1,
§106.1.1)
SECTION F - PLUMBING
1) No gas piping shall be installed in or on the ground under any building or structure unless installed in gastight
conduit, including piping under covered patios. Show location and provide detail of pipe and conduit
installation. (CPC § 1211.1.6)
SECTION G — ENERGY EFFICIENCY
1) [Principally for alterations] Provide complete Energy Calculations showing compliance with the 2013
California Energy Code for this project. The CF -IR -ALT form shall be used to document the minimum
energy requirements needed for alterations to an existing dwelling. Please note that once further information
is provided a Performance Compliance method may be required to show compliance.

Inspections
All. new gas piping and such portions of existing
systems as may. be affected by new. work, or any
changes, shall be inspected by the Administrative
Authority to ensure compliance with all requirements
of the UPC.
It is the responsibility of the holder of the permit
to ensure that the work will stand the tests
prescribed and that the installation meets the
minimum requirements contained in the UPC.
No gas piping system or part thereof, shall be
covered, concealed or put into use until it has been
tested, inspected and accepted as prescribed in the
UPC.
Upon completion of the installation, alteration or
repair of any gas piping, and prior to the use thereof,
the Administrative Authority shall be notified that

Gas piping inspectionsVcovered in Section
1204.0, are done in two phases. The first inspection
shall be made after all gas piping has been installed,
and before any such piping has been covered or
concealed, or any fixture or appliance has been
installed. This inspection shall determine if the gas
piping size, material and installation meet the
requirements of the•_Code. The second inspection

or concealed is so concealed and before any fixture,
appliances or shutoff valves have been attached.
