Re: Single Ply Estimate
Scope.of work
• The contractor shall supply all; labor, transportation, material, and tools necessary for completion of all
roofing related work.
Site set-up
• Castro Roofing and (owner or agent) to agree upon a workable set up area in which to locate equipment.
• Contractor shall restrict the public by setting up safety tape around the set up area, i.e., kettles, trucks,
bins, etc.
• Grounds to be left clean on a daily basis.
General
• Contractor shall provide experience journeymen to apply the new roof system in a professional work
like manner and a experienced foreman shall be present at all times to over see the crew.
• Job to be staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Should inclement weather threaten; or job is shut down due to high winds, etc., Contractor will man the
job on weekends at no extra charge to the owner.
• Contractor to obtain all necessary permits for the re -roofing, and coordinate the required inspection with
the building department.
• Upon request contractor to supply owner or agent with a certificates of workers compensation, and
liability insurance.
• Work shall comply with local building and fire codes, National Roofing Contractors Association
(NRCA) roofing practices.
Quality control
• All material will be applied by qualified experienced and certified applicators.
• All roofing material must be manufactured by the primary manufacturer.
• Contractor shall provide field quality control through supervision, instruction and inspection of the
application.
• Material shall be kept free from damages.
• All material shall be stored in compliance with local fire and safety requirements.
• Container shall be stored out of weather and direct sunshine where the temperatures- are within the limits
specified by the manufactures.
Removal and deck preparation
• Remove all existing gravel stop.
• Remove all loose debris.
• Remove all old skylights.
• Roof shall be thoroughly inspected to determine if any moisture is present with in the roof system
assembly.
• Check for weak areas and any found will be inspected for dry rot and replace plywood at a rate of $2.00
a square foot upon approval of owner or agent.
• Any plumbing/electrical or framing modifications will be charged at $75.00 per hour plus materials
upon approval of owner or agents.
• Roof to be smooth, free of sharp edges, and loose or foreign materials.

Product Design
• Single ply has met and or exceeded all major fire and wind code requirements.
• Single ply roofing system membrane is a proprietary thermoplastic formulation consisting of resins and
plasticizers, stabilizers, biocides, flames retardants and UV absorbents. A welt -insertion knitted scrim
that is laminated between two layers of film gives the membrane its strength and durability.
• Single ply roofing system is resistant to fire chemicals, grease, high winds and punctures and easily
accommodates wide temperature extremes. Single ply resists ponding water once installed, a Single ply
roof is watertight and virtually maintenance free.
Energy Efficient single ply heat welded system:
• Over prepared surface install new fan folded insulation fastened to manufacture specification.
• Install new Single ply edge metal, new pipe and vent flashings and all new Single ply accessories as
needed fastened and heat welded to Single ply specifications.
Submittals:
• Copies of the manufactures technical data bulletins, material safety data sheet (MSDS), and safety
instructions on each product will be supplied upon request.
Slope Roof Section:
Completely remove and discard existing roof. Substrate to be inspected for dry rot or defective plywood panels,
any found to. be in need of replacement will be replaced at a rate of $2.00 per square feet, upon approval of
owner or agents. Substrate to be inspected for loosened or non -flush to deck sheathing nails, any found will be
driven flush, or completely pulled out, and re -nailed using a new nail at a new location. Substrate to becleaned
and free of a1! debris, prior to new roof installation.
Over prepared sheathing at perimeter install new (2X2) drip edge metal. Over entire roof install 1 -layer of #15
felt nailed to hold in place. Over felt install new 110 MPH rated shingles with pipe and vent flashings nailed to
manufactures specification. Install new hip and ridge trim to enhance roof appearance. All pipe and vent
flashings to be painted with rust proof paint to. match new roof.
Note:
■ For a full life expectancy and even extend the life of the roof it is recommended that maintenance
procedures with annual inspections provided by your roofing contractor should be considered.

CONTRACTOR DOES NOT ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR CORRECTION OF EXISTING CODE VIOLATIONS OR FOR THE REPAIR
OF ANY EXISTING STRUCTURAL DEFECTS UNLESS SPECIFIED IN THE PROPOSAL CONTRACT. DOES NOT INCLUDE
ARCHITECTURAL, ENGINEERING OR EXTRA WORK IF REQUIRED BY CITY.
