The compact design of these outdoor units make them ideal for ground or roof installation. The units contain enough refrigerant charge for the out- door unit, indoor coil and 15 feet of interconnecting piping. ESH heat pumps can be custom -matched with one of two lines of evaporator blower sections, each designed to serve a specific function. Electric heaters are available for both in a variety of sizes. For Add -On applications, the indoor coil may be applied in the suppdud of a conventional gas, oil or electric furnace. te heat pump will be the primary source of heat for the building wish the fumace oper- ating only when the heating requirement exceeds the capacity of the heat pump. FEATURES *Durable Construction - The outdoor unit is con- structed of zinc grip steel, finished with a weather resistant brown paint. Drain holes are incorporated into the base to permit free drainage of moisture. Quality Coil - The outdoor coil is constructed of copper tube and aluminum fins for durability. Coil guard provides additional protection when installed in a heavy traffic area. Protected Compressor - The hermetic compressor is protected against high pressure by the operation of sensors which stop the compressor if operating pressures go too high. This protector requires re- setting manually at room thermostat. In addition the compressor is internally protected against high temperature and high pressure. Demand defrost control - includes a five minute anti -short cycle timer to protect the compressor from short cycling. 0 Low Operating Sound Level - The compressor is mounted on rubber isolators and is covered by a blanket to reduce operating sounds. The slow mov- ing condenser fan keeps air turbulence and sound to a low level. Easy Access - Removable panel affords accessi- bility to the compressor and electrical box. Fully charged and factory wired - to simplify instal- lation and reduce labor costs. Only power supply and control wiring and refrigerant lines must be connected. Sweatconnect models are available for minimum time installation. *Factory tested - to verify system operation and control functioning before shipment. U. L. and C.S.A. listed - approved for outdoor appli- cation. ARI certified - to comply with ARI standard 240 and 270 for rating air cooled heat pump units. 0 One (1) year limited warranty - on all parts including compressor. May be extended to five (5) years if Warranty Registration card is completed and re- turned to factory. Limitations for the indoor unit, coil and appropriate accessories must also be observed. The outdoor unit must not be installed with any ductwork in the air stream. The outdoor fan is the propeller type and is not designed to operate against any additional external static pres- sure. The maximum and minimum conditions for operation must be observed to assure a system that will give maximum perform- ance with minimum service. LOCATION Observe all limitations and clearance requirements, see Figure 2 for typical installation. The outdoor unit must have sufficient clearance for air entrance to the condenser coil, for air discharge and for service access. If the unit is to be installed on a hot sun exposed roof or a black-toppedground area, the unit should be raised sufficiently above the roof or ground to avoid taking the accumulated layer of hot air into the outdoor unit. Provide an adequate structural support. The unit may be installed at ground level on a solid base that will not shift or settle, causing strain on the refrigerant lines and possible leaks. Maintain the clearances shown and install the unit in a level position. Isolate the base from the building struc- ture to avoid noise or vibration transmission. When installing units on a roof, the structure must be capable of supporting the total weight of the unit, including a pad, lintels, rails etc., which should be used to minimize the transmission of sound or vibration into the conditioned space. 5 GCUA0241 22.4 3.0 1 13.6. 2.0 7.1 8.7 1.7 10.8 1.9 13.6 2.0 16.2 2.1 19.9 2.1 22.4 2.2 26.91 2.3 GCUA030 22.0 3.1 13.6 2.0 7.4 8.5 1.7 10.6 1.9 13.6 2.0 15.9 2.1 19.5 2.1 .22.0 2.1 26.4 22 EASH024 GCUA036 22.4 3.1 14.2 2.1 7.8 8.6 1:7 10.7 1.9 14.2 2.0 16.1 .2.1 19.7 2.1 22.4 2.1 26.7 22 GCUA037 22A 3.1 14.2 2.1 7.8 8.6 1.7 10.7 1.9 14.2 2.0 16.11 2.1 19.7 2.1? 22.4 -2.1 26.7 2.2 GCUA030 30.6 3.2 19.5 2.2 7.8 . 13.0 •2.1 •16.2 2.4 19.5 2.5 24.0 2.6 27.0 2.7 30.6 2.8 36.4 3.1 EASH030 GCUA036 31.0 3.2 28.0 2.2 8.0 13.2 2.1 16.6 2.4 20.0 2.5 24.4' 2.6 27.5 2.7 31.0 2.8 37.0 3.1 GCUA037 31.0 3.2 120.0 2.2 8.0 13.2 2.1 16.6 2.4 20.0 2.5 24.4 2.6 27.5 2.7 31.0 2.8 37.0 3.1 GCUA036 36.0 3.0 23.0 2.1 7.3 14.5 2.8 18.5 3.0 23.0 3.1 27.1 3.3 31.4 3.4 36.0 3.5 40.0 3.7 EASH036 GCUA037 36.0 3.0 23.0 2.1 7.3 14.5 2.8 18.5 3.0 23.0 3.1 27.1 3.3 31.4 3.4 36.0 3.5 40.0 3.7 GCUA048 41.4 3.0 26.0 2.1 7.5 15.8 3.2 21.0 3.4 26.0 3.5 31.2 3.5 36.3 3.7 41.4 3.9 46.6 4.1 EASHO42 GCUA060 40.6 3.2 25.8 2.1 7.8 15.8 3.0 20.8 3.1 25.8 3.3 30.6 3.3 36.0 3.4 40.6 3.5 45.4 4.0 1 7 1 20.8 31 25.8 3.3 30.6 .4 40.6 3.5 4581 4.0 'Rated CFM same as for coding.
