Architectural Change Request — Pool, spa, deck, barbecue and landscaping
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Gioia;
The Architectural Committee and Landscape Committce respectively reviewed your revised plans
to add a pool, spa, deck, barbecue and additional landscaping.
Review by the Committee is only for general conformance with the architectural guidelines. It is
the responsibility of the owner to fully understand and conform to the architectural guidelines
criteria whether or not all deficiencies are noted during review. It is also the owner's full
responsibility to field verify all existing conditions. The Conunittee's decision with regard to
project design will be f.nal. Please refer to the Architectural Rules for all required submittals.
The committee recommends that you review the enclosed specifications .for the PGA West
concrete mix for consideration prior to tate installation of your patio decking. Please be reminded
that once a homeowner installs custom concrete surfaces, the Association has no responsibility
for maintenance or repairs for such modifications. Per the Architectural Guidelines, reference
page 7. Section 6 — Patio Decking & .Patio Extensions, ,,,,.,,"any damage or change to the
aforementioned shall be at the Owner's expense."
"Quiet" pumps shall be utilized for all pool and spa insmllations and shall meet the minimum
requirement of the industry's "quicCpump standards.
The contractor shall ensure that the make-up water for the automatic water feed device be tapped
ahead of the main dwelling shutoff; Existing hose bibs cannot be used for this purpose.
.If natural gas is to be used for the barbecue, the installation must be permitted by The City of La
Quinta and inspected,
If the Pygmy palms die, the Association will not be responsible to replace them as this type of
palm is not on the Association's Recommended Plant Palette_ Maintenance and replacement will
be the responsibility of the homeowner. The added annual color will also be the responsibility of
the homeowner. Your contractor must warranty the trees for one year and the shrubs for six
months.

Fuller, the Association Manager, prior to any irrigation modifications assoc ted with this change.

Damage to the .landscaping, i,e_, shrubs, trees, dowers and turf is the responsibility of the
contractor,
Added shrub and turf irrigation should be on separate controls due to over -seeding in the fall.
Approvals given by the Architectural Committee arc good for only six months from the date on
the approval letter. If construction has not commenced withiv six months after the project
approval date, a new applications must be submitted.
Upon completion of your project, please complete and return The Notice of Completion of
Architectural Change.
